If you’ve been waiting for one of Disney World’s most charming restaurants to reopen, there’s some good news, and you can finally start making breakfast and lunch plans!

Disney

After months of refurbishment, Grand Floridian Cafe at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is preparing to welcome guests back, with reservations now available for all three daily meal periods beginning November 2, 2026.

While dinner reservations had already appeared in Disney’s booking system back in September, breakfast and lunch were noticeably missing. That’s officially changed as of October 8, giving guests the opportunity to plan their return to this popular table-service restaurant for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

And considering how long the restaurant has been closed, that’s a pretty welcome update!

Disney

Grand Floridian Cafe temporarily closed in July 2026 as part of an extensive refurbishment at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Disney originally indicated the restaurant would remain closed through October, but an exact reopening date wasn’t initially announced.

Then, in early September, dinner reservations began appearing in the My Disney Experience app for November 2 and beyond, giving us our first indication of when the restaurant might return.

The return of all three meal periods is particularly encouraging because Grand Floridian Cafe has traditionally been a popular choice for guests looking for a relaxed breakfast or lunch outside the theme parks.

Reservations can be made through the My Disney Experience app or Walt Disney World’s official dining reservation website, subject to availability. Although November 2 is now the date reflected in the reservation calendar, guests should keep in mind that Disney’s operating schedules can change.

When Grand Floridian Cafe closed for refurbishment, Disney needed somewhere to accommodate guests who still wanted breakfast and lunch at the resort. The temporary solution was Cítricos, another table-service restaurant located at the Grand Floridian.

While Cítricos is typically known for its upscale, Mary Poppins Returns-inspired dinner experience, Disney introduced a temporary daytime brunch service there during Grand Floridian Cafe’s closure. That brunch has been operating from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM, giving guests another option while the Cafe remained unavailable.

With Grand Floridian Cafe reservations now returning for breakfast and lunch on November 2, the temporary Cítricos arrangement is expected to conclude as the original restaurant resumes its daytime service. If you’ve enjoyed having brunch at Cítricos, that’s an important change to keep in mind when planning a November visit.

Disney

Grand Floridian Cafe has long been one of the more approachable table-service restaurants at Disney’s flagship resort. Unlike the more formal dining experiences found elsewhere at the Grand Floridian, the Cafe offers a relaxed atmosphere with views of the resort’s gardens and surrounding grounds.

The restaurant is known for American comfort food with a Floridian influence, including longtime favorites such as Eggs Benedict, waffles, burgers, and buttermilk-fried chicken.

Disney’s current restaurant description also highlights seasonal quiche, fresh coastal flavors, pastries from the Grand Floridian Bakery, specialty coffees, and cocktails. However, there’s one important detail we still don’t have.

Disney has not yet revealed a complete post-refurbishment menu or a comprehensive look at the finished restaurant interior. The refurbishment was announced as a refresh, but until Disney provides additional details or guests begin visiting the reopened location, we won’t know exactly how much the dining room or its offerings have changed.

Grand Floridian Cafe’s return also comes amid continued improvements throughout Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, with additional resort work expected to continue into early 2027. Guests visiting during that period may still encounter construction activity or temporary changes to walking routes elsewhere around the property.

Disney

I’ve always thought Grand Floridian Cafe was one of those Disney World restaurants that doesn’t necessarily get the attention it deserves. It’s not a character meal, it doesn’t come with an elaborate themed dining show, and it isn’t trying to be one of the most expensive restaurants on Disney property.

And sometimes, that’s exactly what I want.

There’s something really nice about stepping away from the crowds at Magic Kingdom, heading over to the Grand Floridian, and sitting down for an actual meal without feeling like you’re in the middle of another attraction. I’m particularly happy to see breakfast and lunch returning because those daytime meals have always been a big part of the restaurant’s appeal.

Now I’m just curious to see what Disney has done with the space during its refurbishment, and whether any menu changes are coming along with it. Grand Floridian Cafe is currently scheduled to resume dining on November 2, 2026, with reservations now available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
