Dancing with the Stars has revealed every themed week for Season 35, and between Mariah Carey, yacht rock, and a Horror Movie Night timed perfectly for Halloween, this season’s lineup has something for pretty much every kind of fan.
If you’ve been tuning in each Tuesday wondering what’s coming next, Andy Richter just handed us the full roadmap.
Andy Richter, who competed on Season 34 himself last year, announced the complete theme schedule on the official Dancing with the Stars podcast. Season 35 kicked off September 15 and 16 with a two-night premiere split by gender, celebrating No. 1 songs from the year each celebrity was born, and immediate eliminations sent Conner Leavitt and Sarah Jane Nader home after the combined lowest judge and audience scores. From there, the show settled into its regular Tuesday night slot, airing at 8 PM ET simulcast on ABC and Disney+, with new episodes streaming on Hulu the next day.

- Week 2 (September 22): Viral Hits Night
- Week 3 (September 29): Yacht Rock Night
- Week 4 (October 6): Mariah Carey Night

A couple of these stand out from the usual Dancing with the Stars playbook. Horror Movie Night lands the week of Halloween itself, and it’s a more specific spin than the Halloween or Horror Night themes the show has leaned on in past seasons, this time built specifically around scenes and songs pulled from actual horror films rather than a general spooky vibe. Mariah Carey getting an entire week dedicated to her catalog is also a first for the show, joining the ranks of artist-specific weeks that have become a fan-favorite format in recent seasons.
Disney Night, meanwhile, keeps its now-familiar spot on the calendar. It’s become one of the most consistently used themes across the show’s run, and this season places it in Week 8, right as the competition narrows down toward its final stretch. For Disney+ subscribers specifically, it’s also a nice full-circle moment: a Disney-produced show, streaming on Disney’s own platform, dedicating a full night to Disney songs and choreography.
Dedication Night, in Week 6, has historically produced some of the show’s most emotional moments, since couples build routines around a person or cause that matters to them personally rather than a pop culture theme, so that’s one worth keeping tissues nearby for.
With Week 5’s theme still unannounced, there’s at least one more surprise still to come before the season reaches its Horror Movie and Disney Night stretch. Given how specific this season’s themes have gotten so far, it’s fair to expect Week 5 to bring something equally distinct rather than a generic filler week.
