One of Disney World’s popular resort restaurants is almost ready to welcome guests back…

…and reservations are already giving us a pretty clear look at when the doors will reopen!

After being closed for more than three months, Grand Floridian Cafe at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is expected to reopen on November 2, 2026, following an extensive refurbishment.

Disney hasn’t issued a standalone announcement naming November 2 as the reopening date. However, updated operating hours and dining availability on Walt Disney World’s website now show dinner reservations beginning November 2, providing the strongest indication yet of when the restaurant will return. And the timing lines up almost perfectly with Disney’s original refurbishment schedule.

Grand Floridian Cafe temporarily closed on July 20, 2026, as part of the ongoing refurbishment work happening throughout Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

When Disney originally announced the project, it said the restaurant would remain closed from mid-July through October 2026. A November 2 reopening would therefore put the restaurant right on schedule.

Located on the first floor of the resort’s main building, Grand Floridian Cafe is one of the hotel’s more casual table-service options. Unlike character dining at 1900 Park Fare or the more upscale experience at Cítricos, the Cafe serves both brunch and dinner in a relatively relaxed setting.

Disney currently describes the restaurant as offering American classics, with its usual menu featuring dishes such as Eggs Benedict and the Grand Floridian Cafe Burger during brunch, along with dinner entrées including Buttermilk-Fried Chicken, Steak with Garlic Parmesan Fingerlings, and Farmer’s Market Vegetable Curry.

Disney has not yet announced whether the refurbishment will bring menu changes when the restaurant returns, so we’ll be watching for an updated menu as November approaches.

The project has officially been described as a refresh, and Grand Floridian Cafe’s renovation comes amid a much larger transformation of the resort.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has undergone extensive updates in recent years, including refreshed guest rooms and changes throughout its public spaces. Work is still happening now.

Disney says renovations in select areas of the Grand Floridian (including its covered entrance) will continue through early 2027. Guests may see or hear construction during daytime hours and could encounter alternate walking routes around the resort. That means Grand Floridian Cafe reopening won’t mark the end of construction at the hotel.

For now, Disney hasn’t revealed detailed concept art or a complete list of design changes for the restaurant itself. We’ll need to wait until the refreshed space is revealed before we know exactly how dramatically its appearance has changed.

What Happens to Brunch at Cítricos?

Here’s an important detail if you’re visiting before November. Grand Floridian Cafe may have been closed, but its popular brunch service didn’t disappear. Disney temporarily relocated brunch to Cítricos, the signature restaurant located upstairs at the Grand Floridian, while work was underway. That temporary arrangement continues while Grand Floridian Cafe remains closed.

With the Cafe now appearing ready to return November 2, we’d expect its regular brunch service to return to the first-floor restaurant as well, although guests should continue checking Disney’s dining calendar for their specific dates.

Dinner availability beginning November 2 is particularly noteworthy because only the temporary brunch service is offered before then. That’s what makes the newly posted dinner hours such a strong indicator of the Cafe’s reopening date.
