Universal Orlando Annual Passholders are getting more room to shop…

…and you’re going to want to know where to find one of the resort’s best spots for discounted merchandise starting September 3.

Universal Orlando has announced that its exclusive UOAP x UOTM discount store is officially moving to a bigger location inside Universal Studios Florida.

Beginning Thursday, September 3, 2026, Universal Orlando Annual Passholders and Universal Orlando Team Members will find the discount shop inside the former Custom Gear Store in San Francisco.

The announcement was shared directly with Passholders by the Universal Orlando Annual Passholder account, which teased: “One of your favorite shopping spots is getting a bigger home!”

And if you’re used to stopping at the store’s previous location, there’s another important detail to know. Operating hours will remain the same.

The exclusive discount store has most recently operated inside the Brown Derby Hat Shop in the Hollywood section of Universal Studios Florida. It’s a fun location, but it isn’t particularly large.

The compact space can make browsing difficult when several Passholders and Team Members are shopping at once, and lines have sometimes formed outside while Team Members control the number of people entering.

That’s what makes the move particularly welcome. The former Custom Gear Store provides a larger retail space, potentially giving shoppers more room to browse and Universal more space to display discounted merchandise.

The UOAP x UOTM store has become a popular stop because merchandise can be marked down significantly from its original retail price. The exact inventory changes, so this isn’t a store where you can necessarily plan on finding one particular item.

Past inventory has included discounted apparel, accessories, drinkware, collectibles, seasonal merchandise, and items originating from different locations around Universal Orlando Resort, including merchandise from Universal Epic Universe, Universal Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios Florida, and Universal Volcano Bay.

If you spot something you want, waiting until your next trip can be a gamble. Clearance inventory and available sizes can disappear quickly.

The location of the new store makes this move a little more interesting. The former Custom Gear Store was located at the exit of Fast & Furious: Supercharged in the San Francisco section of Universal Studios Florida.

Fast & Furious: Supercharged permanently closed in August 2026, and Universal has not yet announced what will eventually replace the attraction. That means the September 3 opening gives at least one portion of the former Fast & Furious space an immediate new purpose.

Moving the Passholder discount store into the former attraction’s retail space does not tell us what Universal plans to do with the larger Fast & Furious attraction building. For now, the Custom Gear retail space simply has a new tenant. There is one detail in Universal’s announcement that longtime Universal fans will probably notice, though. The message ends: “You’re gonna need a bigger closet.”

It’s a pretty obvious play on the famous Jaws line, and the new store happens to be moving into the San Francisco section of the park, where Universal has incorporated several nods to the former Jaws attraction over the years.

We’re not taking that as a cryptic attraction announcement. But as Universal jokes go, it’s a good one.

If you’re visiting Universal Studios Florida after the move, don’t head to the Brown Derby looking for the UOAP x UOTM discount store. Instead, make your way to San Francisco and the former Custom Gear Store at the exit of Fast & Furious: Supercharged.

The store remains exclusive to Universal Orlando Annual Passholders and Universal Orlando Team Members, so be prepared to show the appropriate credentials to enter.The larger location should make one of Universal Orlando’s more unusual Passholder perks considerably easier to shop—and potentially give Universal room for a lot more discounted merchandise.
