If you remember the iconic blue-and-white exterior of Jellyrolls, prepare for this Disney’s BoardWalk location to look VERY different.
Work continues to transform the former Jellyrolls dueling piano bar into the upcoming The Hurly Burly Jazz Club, and crews are now making some major changes to the building’s recognizable façade.
The familiar blue-and-white stripes are disappearing from portions of the building, replaced by darker aqua-blue colors and a new wavy design as Disney prepares the location for its next chapter.
Lately, crews have been actively painting the upper portion of the former Jellyrolls building using a boom lift. Several of the building’s distinctive triangular gables have now been painted a darker aqua blue, replacing the vertical light blue-and-white striped pattern longtime BoardWalk visitors may remember.
The existing undulating white lines across the gables have been retained, creating a new wave-like pattern against the darker background. Painting has now extended to the lakeside portion of the building, although the transformation isn’t finished just yet. The new darker color scheme isn’t limited to the roofline. The updated upper façade coordinates with dark aqua paint previously added to the building’s first level.
That earlier phase of construction also included closing an opening where part of the former façade had been removed. Wooden frames have since been installed along the exterior, which could eventually support new awnings, although their final purpose has not been confirmed.
Construction walls remain in place along Disney’s BoardWalk while work continues both inside and outside the building.
Of course, all of these changes are happening because this building won’t be reopening as Jellyrolls. The longtime dueling piano bar closed in early 2025, and its former home is being completely transformed into The Hurly Burly Jazz Club.
Disney’s new venue will be themed as a historic seaside theater and will actually serve two different purposes depending on when you visit.
During the afternoon, The Hurly Burly Jazz Club will offer family-friendly games and activities. Then, at night, the space will transition into an adults-only live music lounge. Guests will also be able to enjoy coastal-inspired cocktails and light bites at the venue.
Meanwhile, Jellyrolls itself may not be gone forever. Its ownership previously indicated plans to reopen the concept elsewhere in the Lake Buena Vista area later in 2026.
We’ve known for a while that The Hurly Burly Jazz Club would replace Jellyrolls, but these latest exterior changes are giving us a much clearer look at just how different the building could feel once the transformation is complete.
Between the darker aqua color palette, new wave motif, potential awnings, and extensive interior and exterior work, this is becoming much more than simply swapping one sign for another. And with construction still underway, we’ll be watching as more pieces of The Hurly Burly Jazz Club begin to appear.
