If nighttime water park slides have been calling your name all summer, this is your last chance to answer.

Volcano Bay Nights wraps its 2026 season this Friday, August 21st.
Here’s the thing about Central Florida summers that nobody warns you about until you’ve lived through one: the calendar says fall is coming, the Halloween merch is already on shelves, and it is still a punishing 95 degrees outside with humidity you could genuinely lean against. That gap between “the season” and “the actual weather” is exactly why Volcano Bay Nights worked so well this year…it’s been running select nights since May 3rd, giving guests a way to experience Volcano Bay after the sun goes down and the heat becomes survivable again. And after this Friday, that window’s gone until who-knows-when.

Tickets are $99 plus tax per person with parking included, and Universal Annual and Seasonal Passholders get 10% off with a valid pass and photo ID. Entry opens as early as 4 PM with the actual event running from 7 PM onward.
As for what you actually get: shorter waits on the park’s headliners, including Krakatau Aqua Coaster, Ko’okiri Body Plunge, and TeAwa the Fearless River…which, if you’ve ever tried any of those at 2 PM in July, you already understand the appeal of doing them after dark instead. There’s also a Beach Bash at Waturi Beach with a live DJ, character meet-and-greets featuring Shrek and Madagascar characters from DreamWorks Animation, and complimentary treats that have included Blue Raspberry Churro Bites and garlic parmesan popcorn throughout the season, plus specialty food and drinks available for purchase.
Worth noting: this event actually expanded mid-season. The original schedule only listed August 7th, 14th, and 21st, but Universal added more dates back in late June — usually a solid sign that something’s selling well, which bodes reasonably well for this returning in some form next year, even though nothing’s been announced yet.
If you’re planning any kind of Volcano Bay visit soon, here’s the bigger date to circle: the water park closes entirely for seasonal maintenance on October 26th and doesn’t reopen until March 24, 2027. That’s a full five-month stretch with no water park at Universal Orlando at all, which is worth factoring in if a water day is part of your usual trip planning, especially around the holidays.

And the timing here isn’t a coincidence, either — Halloween Horror Nights kicks off August 28th, just one week after Volcano Bay Nights wraps. Universal’s essentially handing the seasonal baton straight from one big after-hours event to the next.
So, the bottom line: if a nighttime water park has been on your “maybe someday” list all summer, someday is this Friday.
Are you making it out to Volcano Bay Nights before the season wraps? Let me know if you caught it this year!
