The happy haunts are leaving the Mansion, and they’re taking over the streets of Disney California Adventure!
Oogie Boogie Bash officially kicks off tonight, August 18th, and Disney just gave us our first preview of one of the biggest NEW entertainment offerings coming to the party in 2026.
Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake — A Haunted Mansion Street Party will bring the spirits of Disney’s iconic Haunted Mansion out into Hollywood Land for a nighttime celebration filled with ghostly dancers, gravediggers, familiar Mansion residents, spooky music, and some VERY recognizable scenes from the attraction.
And from Disney’s first preview, Haunted Mansion fans are going to have a LOT of details to look for.
The new street party will transform Hollywood Boulevard at Disney California Adventure after dark, with blue, purple, and green lighting setting the stage as Haunted Mansion residents materialize throughout the street.
Disney’s preview shows performers dressed as deceased partygoers in period-inspired gowns, suits, and hats dancing through the celebration.
And naturally, the Mansion’s gravediggers are joining the festivities, complete with their shovels and a choreographed routine.
Disney officially describes the new offering as a spooky street party featuring music, energetic dancing, and spirited characters, presented exclusively during Oogie Boogie Bash.
Familiar Haunted Mansion Characters Are Coming Out to Socialize
This isn’t simply a group of generic ghosts, either. Disney’s first preview confirms appearances from several familiar Haunted Mansion residents, including the:
- Caretaker
- Tightrope Walker, also known as Sally Slater
- Beating-Heart Bride, Constance Hatchaway
- Hitchhiking Ghosts
The preview also includes references to the Watchful Busts, Haunted Armor, endless hallway, and other classic imagery pulled directly from the Haunted Mansion.
Basically, consider this your opportunity to see some of the Mansion’s residents outside of their usual 999-haunt home.
The Scenic Units Are PACKED With Haunted Mansion Details
Disney is also bringing several elaborate moving scenic pieces into the street.
One resembles the Haunted Mansion itself, complete with columns, lanterns, brickwork, flowers, and an illuminated stained-glass window. The phrase “Memento Mori” appears along its base.
Another brings together the familiar portraits from the Mansion’s Stretching Room, while a third recreates the attraction’s gated entrance surrounded by gravediggers and flying ghostly elements.
So yes, Haunted Mansion fans may want to watch this one more than once just to catch everything.
It’s Replacing the Frightfully Fun Parade for 2026
There’s an important change to know about this year’s Oogie Boogie Bash entertainment lineup.
Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake is replacing the Frightfully Fun Parade as the event’s marquee processional entertainment in 2026.
The Frightfully Fun Parade is not being presented this year amid ongoing construction at Disney California Adventure. Construction on the upcoming Coco attraction near Pixar Pier impacts an area adjacent to one of the park’s parade gates, limiting use of the traditional parade route.
However, one familiar piece of the former parade isn’t disappearing completely. Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman will still appear during Oogie Boogie Bash, with Ichabod racing through Disney California Adventure at select times while trying to escape the pursuing Horseman.
Oogie Boogie Bash runs on select nights from August 18th through October 31st, 2026, at Disney California Adventure. The separately ticketed party runs from 6 PM to 11 PM and includes five hours of Halloween entertainment, treat trails, attractions, characters, and more.
