Disney Experiences took the stage at D23 2026 with a massive lineup of announcements for Disney destinations around the world.
From the major reimagining of Tomorrowland at Disneyland and new details about Villains Land at Magic Kingdom to Dreamfinder’s return to EPCOT, new attractions at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and updates from Tokyo, Paris, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Disney Cruise Line, there was a lot to unpack.

Disneyland Resort
Fan-Favorite Entertainment Is Returning
Disneyland Resort announced the return of three popular entertainment offerings:
- Remember… Dreams Come True
- The original World of Color
- Magic Happens
Ms. Marvel Joins Avengers: Infinity Defense
Iman Vellani will reprise her role as Ms. Marvel for the preshow of Avengers: Infinity Defense, the new attraction coming to Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure.
Guests will become recruits and help assemble the Avengers for a mission against King Thanos.
New Details Revealed for the Coco Attraction
Disney California Adventure’s upcoming Coco attraction will be a classic family-friendly boat ride.
The attraction is being designed to incorporate the worlds of both Coco and Coco 2, using color, texture, music, characters, culture, and the love shared across generations to create an emotional experience.
Guests will travel by boat into the Land of the Dead, exploring Miguel’s memories and celebrating the importance of honoring those who came before us.
Tomorrowland Will Be Completely Reimagined
Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park is getting a major transformation inspired by Walt Disney’s original vision for the land and its optimistic view of the future.
Multiple new attractions are planned for the reimagined Tomorrowland.
Disney has also prioritized the Tomorrowland project ahead of the Avatar experience planned for Disney California Adventure.
After the Coco attraction and Avengers Campus expansion are completed, Tomorrowland will be the next major Disneyland Resort project, followed by Avatar.

Spaceship Earth Is Getting an Update
Spaceship Earth at EPCOT will receive a major update while retaining the classic EPCOT spirit of the attraction.
The attraction will broaden its exploration of human connection, bringing its story into the present day and beyond.
And yes — “Thank the Phoenicians” is staying!
New Carousel of Progress Concept Art Revealed
New concept art was revealed for Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom.
Expedition Everest’s Yeti Is Finally Getting Fixed
One of the biggest surprises for longtime Walt Disney World fans: Disney announced plans to repair the Yeti inside Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent
The new Indiana Jones attraction coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2027 has officially been named Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent.
Disney also confirmed that the Indiana Jones Audio-Animatronic will be modeled after Harrison Ford.
Disney Animal Carousel Characters Revealed
Disney shared a first look at some of the characters that will appear on the new animal carousel coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto
The upcoming Encanto attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom has officially been named Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto.
New concept art for the attraction was also revealed.
Piston Peak National Park at Magic Kingdom
Disney revealed new details about the two attractions coming to Piston Peak National Park, the Cars-themed expansion currently under construction at Magic Kingdom.
Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along
The newly announced second attraction will be called Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along.
Inspired by the “Diva of Demolition” from Cars 3, the attraction will feature a massive school-bus-sized Miss Fritter Audio-Animatronic.
Miss Fritter will host guests at her wildest demolition derby yet.
Cars Ridge Run Rally
The major racing attraction has officially been named Cars Ridge Run Rally.
Guests will race through the wilderness of Piston Peak, climbing to an icy, snow-covered summit before racing through rugged terrain and a geyser field.
The attraction will also introduce an entirely new ride system. Rather than simply simulating off-road driving, the vehicle’s tires and suspension will physically react to the terrain, allowing riders to feel the bumps, drops, and rocks along the course.
Lightning McQueen and Mater will cover the race live for the Racing Sports Network.
Monstropolis at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Parts of Monstropolis Will Open in 2027
Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ new Monsters, Inc.-themed land, Monstropolis, will begin opening in 2027.
However, the highly anticipated door coaster will not be ready when the first areas open and will remain under construction.
Welcome to Monstropolis
The Glob Theater will be home to a new show called Welcome to Monstropolis, hosted by Mike and Sulley.
The theater will occupy the former Muppet*Vision 3D location.
New Restaurants and Shops
Monstropolis will also introduce several new locations.
Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza will serve the city’s popular pizza and replace the former PizzeRizzo.
The Scareporium will offer Monstropolis merchandise in the former It’s a Wonderful Shop location.
The Monsters University Alumni Club will celebrate some of the most legendary scarers in monster history.
Harryhausen’s Restaurant, inspired by the restaurant seen in Monsters, Inc., is also coming to the land — complete with its memorable octopus sushi chef.
Villains Land at Magic Kingdom
The Official Name Is Villains Land
Disney officially confirmed “Villains Land” as the name of the massive new land currently planned for Magic Kingdom.
And “massive” isn’t an exaggeration.
Disney revealed that Villains Land will be on a scale comparable to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Maleficent Roller Coaster
One of the land’s major attractions will be a large-scale roller coaster inspired by Maleficent.
Magic Mirror Dark Ride
A second major attraction will be a dark boat ride centered around the Magic Mirror.
Guests will travel underground and eventually come face-to-face with the mysterious mirror.
Disney also revealed more of the land’s backstory. An evil wish poisoned a wishing well, allowing its tainted magic to seep into the surrounding land and transform it into the Dark Forest.
Dreamfinder Is Returning to EPCOT
Dreamfinder is coming back!
Disney announced that Dreamfinder will return to Journey Into Imagination With Figment at EPCOT, reuniting the beloved character with Figment.
Tokyo Disney Resort
New Space Mountain Development Look
Disney shared an early animation model related to the new Space Mountain currently being developed at Tokyo Disneyland.
Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue
New details were revealed for Tokyo Disneyland’s upcoming Wreck-It Ralph attraction, Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue.
Guests will be transported into the world of Wreck-It Ralph and tasked with helping restore Sugar Rush.
Disneyland Paris
Space Mountain Returns to Its Original Theme
Disneyland Paris announced that Space Mountain will return to its original theme.
A Concept Art of Scar Animatronic Revealed for The Lion King Attraction
Disney revealed the Scar Audio-Animatronic being developed for the new Lion King attraction at Disney Adventure World.
The attraction will include the dramatic confrontation between Simba and Scar.
Hong Kong Disneyland
Stark Expo Expansion
Hong Kong Disneyland’s Stark Expo will expand with additional Marvel experiences.
Shanghai Disney Resort
Spider-Man Land
Shanghai Disneyland will become home to the only Disney land dedicated exclusively to Spider-Man.
Disney also shared a new look at the roller coaster being developed for the Spider-Man land.
Disney Cruise Line
Disney Cruise Line Will Grow to 13 Ships
Disney Cruise Line plans to operate a fleet of 13 ships by the end of 2030.
Disney will also expand its presence on the West Coast, doubling the number of sailings departing from Southern California.
Disney Believe
Disney revealed the stern, bow, and Grand Hall designs for the upcoming Disney Believe.
Tinker Bell will appear on the bow, while Woody and Buzz Lightyear will decorate the stern.
Moana will serve as the icon of the ship’s Grand Hall.
A New Class of Disney Cruise Ships
Disney also debuted a trailer offering the first look at an entirely new class of Disney Cruise Line ships.
Disney+
The Imagineering Story Season 2
A second season of The Imagineering Story is currently in development for Disney+ and is expected to debut in early 2028.
Cars: Lightning Racers
A new Cars series titled Cars: Lightning Racers is coming to Disney Jr. and Disney+ in 2027.
The series will follow Lightning McQueen and Mater as they embark on new adventures in Radiator Springs alongside a new group of characters.
A Huge Look at the Future of Disney Parks
D23 2026 delivered a massive look at what’s ahead for Disney destinations around the world.
Walt Disney World alone has major projects on the way, including Villains Land, Piston Peak National Park, Monstropolis, new attractions at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, updates to Spaceship Earth, and the return of Dreamfinder.
Meanwhile, Disneyland is preparing for a major reimagining of Tomorrowland, while new attractions and expansions continue to move forward in California, Tokyo, Paris, Hong Kong, and Shanghai.
And with Disney Cruise Line expanding to 13 ships by the end of 2030, Disney Experiences has an enormous slate of projects planned for the years ahead.
