Captain Jack Sparrow is recruiting a new crew at Magic Kingdom, and we’re finally learning what his newest adventure will actually look like.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party kicks off its 2026 season at Magic Kingdom on August 7, and one of this year’s biggest additions is an entirely new experience taking over part of Adventureland.

Disney previously teased that Captain Jack Sparrow would be getting a new pirate-themed offering during the Halloween party, but details were pretty scarce. Now, just as the first party gets underway, Disney has revealed its official name along with several new details about exactly what guests can expect.

Captain Jack’s Buccaneer Bash Is Coming to Adventureland

Disney first announced in June that Captain Jack Sparrow would be part of a new interactive pirate experience in Adventureland during the 2026 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!

At the time, however, Disney hadn’t revealed an official name or many details about what the experience would involve.

We now know the new offering is officially called Captain Jack’s Buccaneer Bash, and it will take place outside Tortuga Tavern in Adventureland.

Rather than simply meeting Captain Jack for a quick photo and autograph, guests will become part of his latest adventure as the infamous pirate arrives in search of new crew members.

Captain Jack Is Recruiting New Pirates

According to Disney, Captain Jack Sparrow has come to port with one very important mission: finding some new recruits.

During Captain Jack’s Buccaneer Bash, he’ll teach would-be crew members some of the tricks (and treats) of becoming a pirate.

And Jack won’t be doing it alone.

Disney has now confirmed that the new Adventureland experience will feature a pirate band, along with daring jugglers and plenty of references to classic sailor superstitions.

That description makes the experience sound less like a traditional stage show and more like an interactive piece of live entertainment designed to bring a little extra pirate chaos to Adventureland throughout the evening.

It May Be Happening Throughout the Night

Here’s where things get particularly interesting.

Captain Jack’s Buccaneer Bash is currently listed with an entertainment window running from 7 PM until midnight — the entire duration of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

That’s noticeably different from a traditional Disney show with specific performance times.

Previously, Adventureland’s Rusty Cutlass Pirate Band appeared during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party with individual showtimes listed in the My Disney Experience app.

With Captain Jack’s Buccaneer Bash currently showing one continuous 7 PM to midnight window instead, it appears the new entertainment could take place periodically throughout the evening, potentially with brief breaks between performances.

We’ll have a much better idea of exactly how the experience operates once the first Halloween party gets underway.

Could the Pirate Band Look Familiar?

Longtime Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party guests may remember the Rusty Cutlass Pirate Band, which previously entertained guests in Adventureland with live pirate music.

Disney hasn’t confirmed that the pirate musicians appearing in Captain Jack’s Buccaneer Bash are the returning Rusty Cutlass performers, so for now, that connection remains unconfirmed.

What we do know is that live pirate music is officially part of Captain Jack’s newest Adventureland adventure, alongside Captain Jack Sparrow himself, jugglers, audience interaction, and plenty of pirate-themed antics.

One of the Biggest New Additions for 2026

Captain Jack’s Buccaneer Bash is one of two major new entertainment offerings debuting at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in 2026.

Over in Tomorrowland, Stitch’s Masquerade Mashup will feature Stitch, Lilo, and Angel in an interactive dance party at the Rockettower Plaza Stage.

Meanwhile, Captain Jack’s Buccaneer Bash gives Adventureland its own new experience and provides guests with another piece of entertainment they can potentially encounter while exploring the park rather than planning around a single showtime.

Captain Jack’s Buccaneer Bash debuts with the first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party of the season on August 7, and with the first guests about to experience it, we should know much more about exactly how this new pirate adventure works very soon.
