Witches, wizards, and Muggles, it’s almost time to head back to Hogwarts!

Universal has officially shared new details about this year’s Back to Hogwarts celebration, and Wizarding World fans have plenty to look forward to. From the return of the popular Hogwarts Castle Walk experience to a special after-hours event and exclusive themed giveaways, this year’s celebration is shaping up to be one of the biggest yet.
Universal Studios Japan has officially revealed new details for its 2026 Back to Hogwarts celebration, which honors the iconic day students return to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry on September 1. The seasonal celebration will feature several returning experiences along with exclusive offerings for Wizarding World fans.

One of the biggest returning experiences is the Hogwarts Castle Walk, which gives guests the opportunity to explore the iconic halls of Hogwarts Castle on foot. Unlike the traditional attraction queue, this special experience allows visitors to slow down and admire the intricate details, props, portraits, and architecture that make the castle one of Universal’s most immersive themed environments.

Also returning is a special after-hours event on September 1, giving a limited number of guests exclusive nighttime access to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Attendance for this event will be determined through a lottery system, and selected guests will receive a commemorative digital badge before the event.
Universal also announced a new Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans-inspired sticker, which will be distributed to guests beginning September 2 while supplies last. The collectible sticker joins the celebration as another limited-time souvenir for Wizarding World fans.

The annual Back to Hogwarts celebration traditionally marks the moment Harry Potter fans commemorate students boarding the Hogwarts Express for a new school year. Universal has continued expanding the celebration in recent years with themed entertainment, exclusive merchandise, limited-time experiences, and special Wizarding World offerings.
While these newly announced experiences are currently exclusive to Universal Studios Japan, they highlight the continued popularity of the Back to Hogwarts celebration across Universal destinations worldwide. Fans visiting Wizarding World locations throughout the season can also expect themed merchandise, seasonal treats, and other magical experiences as September approaches.
