Stitch fans have another reason to head to the movies this fall!
Disney Animation has officially announced a brand-new theatrical short starring everyone’s favorite blue alien, and it will debut exclusively alongside Disney’s upcoming animated film, Hexed. The new short, titled Lilo & Scratch, promises another heartwarming (and likely chaotic) adventure featuring Lilo, Stitch, and an unexpected new addition to the family.
Disney Animation revealed that Lilo & Scratch will premiere exclusively in theaters before Hexed, giving audiences a brand-new story set in the world of Lilo & Stitch.
According to Disney, the short follows Lilo as she brings home a new member of the family — a pet cat named Scratch. But just like Stitch, Scratch isn’t exactly what she appears to be, setting the stage for another fun-filled adventure centered around friendship, family, and plenty of mischief.
While Disney hasn’t shared many additional story details yet, the announcement is already generating excitement among Lilo & Stitch fans, especially following the franchise’s continued popularity across Disney Parks, merchandise, Disney+, and this year’s live-action film.
The announcement also gives moviegoers one more reason to catch Hexed in theaters when it arrives later this year, as the only way to see Lilo & Scratch at launch will be on the big screen before the feature presentation.
Disney is expected to reveal more about the new short, including its runtime, additional characters, and whether more familiar faces from the Lilo & Stitch universe will appear, as the release date gets closer.
