Planning a Disney World resort stay? There have been a lot of hotel announcements lately…and you won’t want to miss any of them!

Disney

From an all-new entertainment lounge and a brand-new shopping experience to additional dining options and a first look inside Disney’s newest resort, Walt Disney World has packed several major hotel announcements into the month of June. Whether you’re planning a vacation for later this year or looking ahead to 2027, these updates could have an impact on where you stay—and what you experience outside the parks.

Perhaps the biggest announcement is the arrival of Hurly-Burly, a brand-new lounge coming to Disney’s BoardWalk.

According to Disney, Hurly-Burly will be inspired by a historic seaside theater and will transform throughout the day. During the afternoon, the venue will welcome families with games, trivia, and interactive entertainment. In the evening, it will transition into a sophisticated lounge exclusively for guests 21 and older, featuring live music, coastal-inspired cocktails, and light bites.

While Disney has not confirmed the exact location, many fans believe the new venue will occupy the former home of Jellyrolls, the longtime dueling piano bar that closed in 2025.

Another exciting addition headed to Disney’s BoardWalk is Basin, the popular bath and body retailer already familiar to many Disney Springs visitors.

The new location is expected to open in late 2026 and will feature the company’s signature collection of handcrafted soaps, bath bombs, body butters, botanical products, shampoo bars, and lip balms.

Even more exciting, Disney says guests will be able to create personalized products through interactive experiences including:

  • A custom bath tea blending counter
  • A make-your-own soap station
  • A soap embossing press for personalized souvenirs

The expansion brings another unique shopping experience to one of Walt Disney World’s most popular resort destinations.

Disney wasn’t finished with BoardWalk announcements.

The company also confirmed that a new quick-service restaurant is coming to the resort. While Disney hasn’t shared many details yet (including the restaurant’s name, menu, or opening timeline), it promises that additional information will be revealed later this summer.

The announcement comes as Disney continues investing in BoardWalk with new dining, shopping, and entertainment offerings designed to enhance the guest experience both during the day and after the parks close.

Beyond Disney’s BoardWalk, Disney also unveiled new details about the upcoming Disney Lakeshore Lodge.

Among the highlights released this month were new concept images showcasing the resort’s pool complex and lazy river. The nature-inspired Disney Vacation Club resort is being built along the shores of Bay Lake near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and is scheduled to welcome its first guests in 2027.

The newly released artwork offers one of the clearest looks yet at the resort’s recreation area, featuring winding waterways, lush landscaping, and family-friendly pool amenities that fit the lodge’s outdoors-inspired theme.

While Walt Disney World is often defined by its attractions and entertainment, Disney continues investing heavily in its resort hotels.

Between new lounges, expanded shopping, additional dining options, and entirely new resort developments, Disney is creating more reasons for guests to spend time enjoying the hotels themselves…not just using them as a place to sleep between park days.

For guests planning future vacations, especially those considering a stay at Disney’s BoardWalk or looking ahead to Disney Lakeshore Lodge, June has delivered some of the year’s biggest hotel news.
