Disney is having a very good year!

The Television Critics Association has announced the nominees for the 42nd Annual TCA Awards, and The Walt Disney Company earned an impressive 23 nominations across its various brands and platforms, including Disney+, Hulu, ABC, Disney Channel, FX, and more. Among the nominees are projects Disney Parks fans may recognize, including Disneyland Handcrafted and The Muppet Show.
The Television Critics Association Awards recognize outstanding achievements from the 2025–2026 television season and are voted on by more than 220 professional television critics and journalists across the United States and Canada. Winners will be announced later this summer.

Disney’s 23 nominations span a variety of categories, ranging from drama and family programming to animation, news, and variety programming.
Disneyland Handcrafted Receives Major Recognition
One of the most notable nominations for Disney Parks fans is Disneyland Handcrafted, which earned a nomination for Outstanding Achievement in News and Information. The documentary, directed by Leslie Iwerks, chronicles the creation of Disneyland and features rare archival footage and behind-the-scenes stories from the development of Walt Disney’s original park.

The documentary has already received additional industry recognition this year, including multiple Telly Awards.

The Disney+ special brought Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo, and the rest of the gang back to the Muppet Theatre alongside special guests Sabrina Carpenter, Maya Rudolph, and Seth Rogen.

The nomination places the Muppets alongside major television programs including Saturday Night Live, The Daily Show, and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.
