UPDATE: The Lightning McQueen popcorn buckets are now back in stock at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
That didn’t take long.

Just hours after racing into Walt Disney World, the new Lightning McQueen light-up popcorn bucket has already sold out at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The highly anticipated collectible debuted on June 9 as part of the 20th anniversary celebration of Pixar’s Cars, and it appears demand far exceeded supply as guests quickly lined up to get their hands on the newest Disney popcorn bucket.
The popcorn bucket, designed to look like Lightning McQueen himself, features light-up effects and rolling wheels, making it one of the most interactive Disney popcorn buckets released this year. The top of the vehicle opens to hold popcorn while maintaining the iconic look of Radiator Springs’ most famous racer.
Disney originally announced that the bucket would debut at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort on June 9 in celebration of the film’s 20th anniversary.
Unfortunately for some guests visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios on opening day, the bucket didn’t stay available for long.
Will It Return?
At this time, Walt Disney World has not announced whether additional inventory will be released.

Disney popcorn buckets are often advertised as being available “while supplies last,” and some popular designs receive restocks while others disappear entirely after their initial release. The Lightning McQueen bucket was already expected to be one of the most sought-after collectibles of the summer thanks to the popularity of the Cars franchise and the bucket’s interactive features.
Guests hoping to add one to their collection may want to keep an eye on Disney’s official channels and check with cast members for any future availability updates.

The sellout comes during a busy year for Pixar’s Cars franchise.
In addition to the new popcorn bucket, Disney recently announced that the original Cars film will return to theaters this September for its 20th anniversary celebration, giving fans another chance to experience Lightning McQueen’s original adventure on the big screen.

If the response to this popcorn bucket is any indication, Cars fans are still ready to race into Radiator Springs 20 years later.
