One of Disney’s next big movie releases is already taking flight — literally!

Disney’s live-action Moana is sailing into theaters soon, but before it hits the big screen, Hawaiian Airlines is bringing the adventure to the skies with a brand-new themed aircraft livery. And yes, this one is packed with Maui, Pua, Hei Hei, Kakamora, and enough “Voyage beyond the reef” energy to make your next flight feel just a little more magical.
Hawaiian Airlines has officially unveiled the first of three new aircraft liveries inspired by Disney’s upcoming live-action Moana movie. The first design debuted on June 11, 2026, on an Airbus A321neo, aircraft N227HA.

This first Moana-themed plane connects Hawaiʻi to the U.S. West Coast and the Cook Islands, making it a pretty perfect canvas for a story all about voyaging, wayfinding, and crossing the ocean. Casual. No pressure.
Two more Moana aircraft designs are also on the way in July. One will appear on an A330, Hawaiian Airlines’ flagship transpacific aircraft, and another will debut on a Boeing 717, which flies between the Hawaiian Islands.

The new Hawaiian Airlines Moana livery features artwork inspired by Disney’s live-action reimagining of the animated film. The aircraft includes Maui in his hawk form flying among blue swirls, along with Hawaiian Airlines logos incorporated into the design.
The phrase “Voyage beyond the reef” appears on the plane, along with the Moana logo on the side of the aircraft and engines. Maui’s iconic fishhook is also prominently displayed, with detailed carving artwork visible along the side of the plane.

And the theming does not stop outside.
Inside the aircraft, the Moana design continues with overhead luggage bin decorations featuring characters including the Kakamora, Hei Hei, and Pua. So yes, even your carry-on gets a little Disney movie magic.

This new livery is more than just a fun movie promotion. Alisa Onishi, Managing Director of Hawaiʻi Marketing for Hawaiian Airlines, shared that voyaging is central to the airline’s identity and tied to Hawaiʻi’s history of traditional Pacific wayfinding.
The three live-action Moana aircraft also join previous Hawaiian Airlines liveries inspired by Disney’s animated Moana films.
Recently, other Disney-themed aircraft liveries have also been revealed for upcoming projects including The Mandalorian and Grogu and Toy Story 5, so Disney fans may want to keep their eyes on the runway as much as the parks right now.
