Searching for Disney World information may soon look a lot more like using ChatGPT or Google AI than scrolling through endless search results.

Disney appears to be testing a new AI-powered search experience on the Walt Disney World website, giving guests direct answers to questions instead of simply serving up a list of links.

The feature was recently spotted on DisneyWorld.com and could represent one of the biggest changes to Disney’s online planning tools in years. If expanded, the new search experience could make it significantly easier for guests to find information about attractions, dining, hotels, tickets, transportation, and vacation planning without digging through multiple pages.

Disney Is Testing AI-Generated Answers

Disney has begun testing an AI-powered answer box within the Walt Disney World website search experience. Instead of displaying only traditional search results, the new tool generates a concise answer to a guest’s question at the top of the page. The answer is then followed by supporting links and additional information.

The system appears designed to understand natural-language questions, allowing guests to search the way they would normally speak or type rather than relying on exact keywords. This means guests could ask more conversational questions and receive a direct response without having to open multiple webpages.

How the New Search Experience Works

The AI-generated answer appears in a highlighted section above traditional search results and attempts to summarize information pulled from across Walt Disney World’s website.

Rather than forcing guests to navigate through FAQs, attraction pages, dining listings, or planning guides, the system aims to provide a quick answer immediately while still giving users the option to explore additional details through supporting links.

The functionality closely resembles the AI-generated summaries now appearing in major search engines, where users receive a concise answer before deciding whether they need more information.

Part of a Larger Disney Technology Push

This isn’t the first time Disney has explored artificial intelligence as a way to simplify vacation planning.

Earlier this year, Disney confirmed that an AI-powered search experience is also being developed for the My Disney Experience app. During demonstrations shared with the media, Disney showed how guests could ask questions in natural language and receive summarized responses based on information pulled from across Walt Disney World’s systems. One example included searching for attractions related to space travel, with the results highlighting experiences such as Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Space Mountain, Mission: SPACE, and Star Tours.

Disney has said the goal is to reduce complexity and help guests find answers more quickly, particularly as Walt Disney World vacations continue to involve a growing number of planning decisions.

Why This Could Be a Big Deal for Disney Guests

For many guests, finding information on Walt Disney World’s website can sometimes be frustrating. Questions about Lightning Lane availability, resort transportation, dining reservations, attraction requirements, ticket options, and entertainment schedules often require navigating multiple pages before finding a clear answer.

An AI-powered search tool could dramatically reduce that friction by providing immediate responses while still directing guests to official Disney resources for additional information.

If the testing proves successful, the feature could eventually become a standard part of both DisneyWorld.com and the My Disney Experience app, creating a more streamlined planning experience for millions of Walt Disney World visitors each year.

Still in Testing

As of now, Disney has not officially announced a full rollout timeline for the website feature, and it appears the AI-powered search experience is still being tested with select users. The functionality shown is not yet widely available and could continue to evolve before a broader launch.

However, between the website testing and Disney’s previously announced plans for AI-powered search in My Disney Experience, it’s becoming increasingly clear that artificial intelligence will play a larger role in how guests interact with Walt Disney World’s digital planning tools in the future.

Whether you’re planning your next Disney vacation, searching for dining recommendations, or trying to understand the latest Lightning Lane changes, Disney may soon be offering answers much faster than ever before.
