If you’ve recently sailed with Disney Cruise Line, you may have access to one of the biggest cruise discounts Disney has offered in quite some time.
Disney Cruise Line has expanded savings available through its Placeholder Reservation program, allowing eligible guests to save between 10% and 25% on select future sailings. For some cruises, the discount could add up to hundreds (or even thousands) of dollars in savings.
Disney Cruise Line guests who book a Placeholder Reservation while onboard a sailing can now receive discounts ranging from 10% to 25% off the voyage fare on eligible cruises departing within the next 24 months.
According to Disney Cruise Line, most eligible sailings continue to receive the standard 10% discount, while select cruises qualify for enhanced savings of 20% or 25%.
The offer applies to a wide variety of itineraries across the Disney Cruise Line fleet, including sailings aboard the Disney Dream, Disney Magic, Disney Fantasy, Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Wonder.
Existing Placeholder Reservations May Benefit Too
One of the greatest details in the updated offer is that guests who already have an active Placeholder Reservation may also be able to take advantage of the new savings if their future cruise qualifies. Disney Cruise Line notes that existing Placeholder Reservations can be applied to eligible discounted sailings.
Disney is also allowing Placeholder Reservations to be used toward select Concierge Stateroom bookings, providing a 10% voyage fare discount on eligible concierge categories.
What Is a Placeholder Reservation?
For guests unfamiliar with the program, Placeholder Reservations are available exclusively while onboard a Disney Cruise Line sailing.
Guests pay a refundable $250 deposit per stateroom, which allows them to lock in future cruise savings before deciding on a specific sailing. The future cruise must be booked within 24 months of purchasing the Placeholder Reservation. Additional blockout dates and restrictions apply.
The discount applies to the voyage fare only and cannot be combined with certain other promotions and offers.

Disney Cruise Line discounts can be difficult to find, especially for guests who prefer booking well in advance rather than waiting for last-minute promotions.
