Disneyland got an unexpected surprise this week when two major stars stopped by Pixar Pier to celebrate the upcoming release of Toy Story 5.
Tom Hanks, the longtime voice of Woody, and Conan O’Brien were spotted at Disney California Adventure alongside Woody, Jessie, and Buzz Lightyear during a special promotional appearance tied to Disney and Pixar’s highly anticipated sequel.
Photos from the event show Tom Hanks posing with Woody in front of a colorful Toy Story 5-themed backdrop featuring familiar characters including Forky, Hamm, and one of the movie’s new tech-inspired toy characters.
Hanks also joined Woody, Jessie, Buzz Lightyear, and Conan O’Brien for additional photos as guests looked on from Pixar Pier.
The appearance comes as Disney ramps up promotion for Toy Story 5, which arrives in theaters on June 19.
One of the biggest surprises surrounding Toy Story 5 has been the addition of Conan O’Brien to the film’s voice cast.
Disney previously announced that O’Brien will voice a new character named Smarty Pants, making his Pixar debut in the upcoming sequel.
During the Disneyland appearance, O’Brien posed for photos near artwork featuring the new character, giving fans another glimpse at what they can expect when the film arrives in theaters later this month.
Toy Story 5 reunites many of the franchise’s beloved characters while introducing new challenges involving modern technology and children’s relationships with electronic devices.
The film marks the return of Tom Hanks as Woody and Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear as Pixar continues one of its most successful and beloved franchises.
With surprise appearances from both Hanks and O’Brien now taking place at Disneyland Resort, excitement for the next chapter in the Toy Story saga is clearly beginning to ramp up.
