Hakuna Matata? More like Hakuna WOW-tata!

Disney has unveiled a brand-new look at the highly anticipated Lion King-themed land currently under development at Disneyland Paris, and the latest details have us even more excited for what’s coming to the Pride Lands.
While Disney fans have already seen concept art and scale models for the project, this newest behind-the-scenes look offers one of the clearest views yet of the ambitious land, attraction, and Audio-Animatronics that will bring Simba’s story to life.
New Look at The Lion King Land Model Revealed
Disney recently shared a closer look at the model for the upcoming Lion King-themed land coming to Disney Adventure World at Disneyland Paris. The land will become the first Disney Parks land in the world entirely dedicated to The Lion King and is currently under construction as part of the park’s massive transformation.

The newly released images highlight the centerpiece attraction, a massive water-based ride inspired by Simba’s journey from cub to king. The attraction will be built around an enormous Pride Rock mountain and will take guests through scenes inspired by the beloved 1994 animated classic.
A tiny Simba figure can be spotted standing atop Pride Rock in the model, giving fans a better idea of the attraction’s scale and how closely Disney Imagineers are recreating the iconic setting from the film.
New Animatronics Revealed
One of the most exciting details from the latest reveal is a closer look at several Audio-Animatronic character models.

Disney shared models of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa that are expected to appear within the attraction. The characters appear to be part of a jungle scene inspired by the film’s memorable “Hakuna Matata” sequence.
According to Disney Imagineers, the attraction will combine state-of-the-art Audio-Animatronics, projection technology, and immersive storytelling techniques designed to place guests directly into the world of The Lion King. Imagineers have even teased that guests will experience effects that leave them wondering, “How did they do that?”
Bringing the African Savanna to Paris
The attraction itself isn’t the only ambitious part of the project.

Disney Imagineers have explained that the land is being carefully designed to recreate the look and feel of the African savanna. Trees and landscaping native to the Paris region are being selected and trained over time to resemble the vegetation found throughout the Pride Lands, helping create a more authentic environment for guests.

When completed, the Lion King land will feature attractions, dining, shopping, character encounters, and immersive environments inspired by one of Disney Animation’s most beloved films. The land will sit alongside World of Frozen at Disney Adventure World, formerly Walt Disney Studios Park.
The Future Looks Bright for Disney Adventure World
Disney Adventure World is already in the middle of a massive transformation, but the Lion King land may ultimately become one of the resort’s most ambitious additions yet.
Between the towering Pride Rock mountain, cutting-edge ride technology, beloved characters, and immersive environments inspired by the African savanna, this project is shaping up to be unlike anything else currently found at a Disney park anywhere in the world.

And if these latest model photos are any indication, Disney fans are going to be counting down the days until they can finally journey to the Pride Lands themselves.
