A small change on Disney World’s digital maps is giving fans an updated look at Cinderella Castle.
Walt Disney World has updated its digital Magic Kingdom map to reflect the new paint scheme currently being added to Cinderella Castle, offering guests an updated look at the park’s iconic centerpiece before the project is fully completed in real life.
Guests browsing the My Disney Experience app and official Walt Disney World digital maps may notice that Cinderella Castle now appears with its refreshed color palette.
The updated artwork removes much of the pink coloring that has defined the castle since its 50th Anniversary-era transformation and replaces it with a brighter white and gray appearance. The castle’s signature blue rooftops and gold accents remain, but the overall look is much closer to the classic color scheme many Disney fans remember prior to 2020.
The update comes as repainting work continues on the actual Cinderella Castle inside Magic Kingdom. Over the past several weeks, guests have spotted crews gradually repainting sections of the structure, with portions of the pink paint disappearing in favor of lighter colors.
A Return to a More Classic Castle
Disney first introduced the pink-and-gold makeover in 2020 ahead of “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” honoring Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary. The refreshed design added warm pink hues, deeper blue rooftops, and enhanced gold accents that remained long after the anniversary celebration ended.
Now, Disney appears to be transitioning Cinderella Castle back toward a more traditional appearance while still retaining some of the enhanced detailing added during the previous refurbishment.
The newly updated digital map offers one of the clearest looks yet at what the finished project could resemble once repainting is complete.
While Disney has not officially announced when the castle repainting project will be finished, today’s digital map update suggests the company has a clear vision for the iconic structure’s next chapter.
