Back when we first covered Disney’s plans for a new AI-powered vacation planning experience, it was still very much a “coming soon” story, all promise and no actual access. That’s changed.

Walt Disney World has now officially begun beta testing the new tool online, which means this is no longer a future concept, it’s a real thing a small group of guests are actively clicking through right now.
For anyone who missed our original coverage, here’s a quick refresher on what this tool is actually built to do. The new vacation planning experience introduces flexible search, meaning guests can search by month or season instead of checking individual dates one at a time, paired with a new pricing and availability calendar designed to surface whether shifting your travel dates by a few days could save you money or open up more room options. It also lets guests compare resorts and packages side by side, ask follow-up questions, and get AI-powered summaries that pull directly from official Disney sources rather than generic web results, all aimed at helping guests find the best available rate without digging through a dozen browser tabs to do it themselves.
Here’s what’s new as of this update: the beta test is officially underway, but it’s currently limited to a small number of randomly selected guests. Disney hasn’t released additional details about exactly what guests in the test group are seeing or how the selection process works, so if you haven’t noticed anything different on your own account, that’s not unusual. Being left out of this first wave doesn’t mean anything about your account specifically, it just means the test pool is intentionally small right now.

This beta also doesn’t exist in a vacuum. It follows Walt Disney World’s website debuting a completely new look back in August, which makes this feel less like an isolated experiment and more like the next deliberate step in a broader overhaul of how Disney wants guests interacting with its planning tools online. Between the redesigned homepage and now this AI-assisted planning layer, Disney is clearly investing real effort into making DisneyWorld.com feel less like a maze of static pages and more like an actual planning assistant.
It’s worth remembering what we noted when this was first announced: none of Disney’s existing booking tools are going anywhere. The standard DisneyWorld.com search and booking flow, travel advisors, and the Disney Call Center all remain fully available and unchanged, whether or not you’re selected for this beta. If you’d rather have an actual person walk you through your options instead of describing your ideal trip to a chatbot, that’s still very much on the table, and working with a travel advisor like Adventure Awaits Travel Company remains a free way to get that same personalized attention from someone who already knows the resort and ticket landscape inside and out.
If you do get selected for the beta, Disney hasn’t said whether there’s any formal way to provide feedback on the experience, though it wouldn’t be surprising if some kind of survey or feedback prompt shows up within the tool itself once you start using it. For everyone else, the most useful thing to do right now is simply keep an eye on your account when you log in to check park hours or dining reservations, since there’s no indication of exactly how or when Disney plans to expand this test group.

Given how much ground this tool is trying to cover, from flexible date searching to AI-generated comparisons between resorts, it’s reasonable to expect this beta phase to run for a while before any kind of wider rollout happens. Disney tends to move cautiously with guest-facing technology changes like this, especially anything touching the actual booking and payment flow, so patience is probably the name of the game here.
We’ll keep watching for any expansion of this beta test or new details about what the finished tool actually looks like, so check back with Theme Park Scope as this rolls out further.
