There’s a new Toy Story 5 teaser in town, and Pixar just gave fans their biggest look yet at what’s coming next.
Disney and Pixar have released a brand-new teaser for Toy Story 5, featuring several never-before-seen scenes that offer new clues about the film’s technology-focused storyline, the role of LilyPad, and a much longer preview of Conan O’Brien’s character, Smarty Pants.
While the teaser is still short, it reveals some surprisingly important moments that could help explain the central conflict of Pixar’s next Toy Story adventure.
One of the biggest reveals in the new footage shows Jessie and Bullseye seemingly discovering the technology issue that appears to be at the center of the film’s story.
The scene suggests that the toys begin noticing something unusual involving the devices that have started capturing children’s attention, potentially setting the stage for the larger conflict between traditional toys and modern technology.
It’s another hint that Jessie may play a much larger role in Toy Story 5 than fans initially expected.
LilyPad Sends the Toys to the Garage
The teaser also includes a new look at LilyPad, the technology-focused character that director Andrew Stanton recently described as being “like a helicopter mom meets personal assistant.”
In the footage, LilyPad appears to have moved the toys to the garage, creating what could be one of the film’s major turning points.
The moment reinforces Stanton’s earlier comments that LilyPad isn’t necessarily a villain but rather a well-intentioned character whose actions create problems for Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of the gang.
Smarty Pants Gets a Battery Boost
Fans also get a new look at Smarty Pants, voiced by Conan O’Brien.
The teaser reveals that Jessie appears responsible for getting new batteries installed in the character, bringing him back to life, and setting up what could become one of the film’s most important relationships.
Given Smarty Pants’ apparent role as an intelligent toy with plenty of opinions, it’s easy to see how he could become a key ally (or source of comic relief) as the story unfolds.
A Longer Listen to Conan O’Brien’s Performance
Perhaps the most exciting reveal for many fans is the extended preview of Conan O’Brien’s voice work.
While previous promotional material only offered brief glimpses of the character, the new teaser gives audiences a much better sense of Smarty Pants’ personality, delivery, and comedic energy.
The performance feels distinctly Conan, blending confidence, humor, and quick wit into what is already shaping up to be one of Toy Story 5’s most anticipated new characters.
Toy Story 5 Arrives This Summer
With every new teaser, Pixar continues to reveal more about a story that appears to focus on the growing relationship between children and technology.
