A major Disneyland Resort policy change is now officially in effect, and it could make planning your park day much easier.

As of June 9, 2026, Disneyland has officially eliminated its longtime 11 AM park hopping restriction, allowing guests with eligible Park Hopper tickets and Magic Key passes to move between Disneyland and Disney California Adventure whenever they want during normal operating hours.

The change marks one of the biggest updates to Disneyland’s park hopping policy since reservation systems and post-pandemic operating procedures were introduced several years ago.

Guests Can Now Park Hop at Any Time

Previously, guests with Park Hopper benefits were required to wait until 11 AM before visiting their second park.

Under the updated policy, guests may now enter either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure at any point during the day after first entering the park tied to their reservation.

The updated language on Disneyland Resort’s website now states:

“Guests with a Park Hopper ticket or Magic Key pass can visit more than one park per day, subject to park capacity.”

The removal of the 11 AM restriction gives guests considerably more flexibility when planning attractions, dining reservations, entertainment schedules, and Lightning Lane selections throughout the day.

Reservations Are Still Required

While the park hopping restriction has been removed, Disneyland’s park reservation system is not going away.

Guests will still need a valid theme park reservation for the first park they plan to visit each day. Once they have entered that park, they can move freely between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure for the remainder of the day, subject to capacity limitations.

This means guests will still select a starting park when making reservations but will no longer need to wait until a specific time to hop.

A Return to Pre-Pandemic Flexibility

For many Disneyland fans, the update represents a return to one of the biggest perks of purchasing a Park Hopper ticket.

Before the temporary restrictions introduced in the years following the pandemic, guests could freely move between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure throughout the day without waiting for a designated hopping window.

The new policy restores much of that flexibility and should make it easier for guests to take advantage of dining reservations, entertainment offerings, seasonal festivals, and attraction wait times across both parks.

The policy change could be especially beneficial for guests looking to maximize shorter vacations.

Instead of spending the morning committed to one park, visitors can now react to wait times, mobile order availability, weather conditions, and entertainment schedules in real time. Want to rope drop Radiator Springs Racers and then head to Disneyland for Space Mountain an hour later? Now you can.
