Disney

Disney and Marvel have announced a new lineup of guest stars joining upcoming episodes of Marvel’s Iron Man and His Awesome Friends, including Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Mookie Betts and actor Alan Ruck. The announcements arrive as the Disney Jr. series prepares to launch its next major story arc, introducing larger adventures, new Marvel characters, and some powerful figures from Asgard.

New episodes of Disney Jr.’s Marvel’s Iron Man and His Awesome Friends are on the way, and Marvel has officially revealed several guest stars who will be lending their voices to the series.

The next batch of episodes will premiere on Disney Jr. and Disney Jr. On Demand on June 11. Following the television debut, the first 11 episodes will become available to stream on Disney+ in the United States and select international markets on June 12.

A New “Giant-Sized Armor” Story Arc Begins

The upcoming episodes kick off a brand-new “Giant-Sized Armor” story arc that will challenge Tony Stark, Riri Williams, and Amadeus Cho with bigger adventures and larger-scale threats than they’ve faced before.

As part of the new storyline, viewers will meet several iconic Marvel characters making their debut in the preschool series, including Thor, Loki, and Odin.

Alan Ruck, known for his roles in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Succession, has been cast as Odin, the mighty and kind ruler of Asgard.

Mookie Betts Heads to the Marvel Universe

One of the biggest surprises from the announcement is the addition of Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts.

Betts will voice Dizzy Doubleday, a baseball player who enjoys helping young children learn the game. The character joins another baseball-themed character already announced for the series.

ESPN sportscaster and analyst Jessica Mendoza was previously revealed as Dottie Doubleday, Dizzy’s sister and the owner of a local batting cage. The siblings are expected to help introduce baseball-themed lessons and adventures to young viewers during the upcoming episodes.

What Is Marvel’s Iron Man and his Awesome Friends?

Marvel’s Iron Man and His Awesome Friends follows young versions of Tony Stark, Riri Williams, and Amadeus Cho as the trio works together to solve problems, protect their city, and help others using their unique Iron Suits. The preschool-focused animated series is aimed at younger audiences and is rated TV-Y on Disney+.

The show stars:

  • Mason Blomberg and Lincoln Bonilla as Tony Stark / Iron Man
  • Kapri Ladd as Riri Williams / Ironheart
  • Aidyn Ahn as Amadeus Cho / Iron Hulk
  • Tony Hale as Ultron
  • Vanessa Bayer as Swarm
  • Talon Warburton as Absorbing Man

The series serves as Marvel’s preschool-focused introduction to some of its most recognizable heroes while delivering age-appropriate adventures for younger viewers.

Marvel Continues Expanding Its Preschool Universe

The addition of guest stars like Mookie Betts and Alan Ruck continues Disney and Marvel’s strategy of bringing recognizable names into their younger-skewing animated programming.

With the arrival of Thor, Loki, Odin, and the new “Giant-Sized Armor” storyline, the upcoming episodes appear set to significantly expand the world of Marvel’s Iron Man and His Awesome Friends while introducing younger audiences to even more Marvel characters.

Fans won’t have to wait much longer to see these new adventures unfold when the latest episodes debut on Disney Jr. on June 11 before arriving on Disney+ the following day.
