Finding the perfect soundtrack for Disney’s newest coaster wasn’t as simple as picking a few rock songs.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is now officially open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but bringing The Electric Mayhem’s newest concert tour to life required far more work than most guests will ever see. According to Walt Disney Imagineering, the team tested well over 100 songs during development as they searched for the perfect mix of music, energy, and storytelling to match the high-speed thrills of Disney’s newest attraction.
During the development of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, Imagineers evaluated more than 100 different songs before ultimately narrowing the list down to the final soundtrack guests experience today. The goal wasn’t simply to choose popular songs—it was to find tracks that matched the coaster’s launch, pacing, inversions, and overall ride profile while still fitting The Electric Mayhem’s unique style and personality.

According to Imagineer David Brescia, the team spent significant time testing songs against the attraction’s ride system to determine which tracks created the best overall experience from launch to final brake run.
The Final Setlist Features Five Songs
After extensive testing, Disney selected five songs for the attraction’s rotating soundtrack.

The final lineup includes:
- “Song 2” — The Electric Mayhem
- “Born to Be Wild” — The Electric Mayhem featuring Camilla the Chicken
- “Love Rollercoaster” — The Electric Mayhem featuring Jennifer Hudson and Questlove
- “Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)” — The Electric Mayhem featuring Def Leppard
- “Walking on Sunshine” — The Electric Mayhem featuring Kelly Clarkson
Like the former Aerosmith version of the attraction, guests receive one randomly assigned song during their ride experience, meaning multiple rides may be necessary to hear the entire soundtrack.
Music Is the Heart of the New Attraction
While the storyline, queue, and characters have all been reimagined, music remains at the core of the attraction.

The new version follows Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem as guests race through Hollywood on their way to the band’s biggest concert yet. The attraction combines the coaster’s signature high-speed thrills with original recordings and collaborations featuring several well-known musicians.

Disney has said from the beginning that The Electric Mayhem would team up with some of music’s biggest stars for the attraction, making the soundtrack one of the most important elements of the reimagining.
A Massive Undertaking for Disney Imagineering
Testing more than 100 songs underscores just how much effort Disney put into reimagining one of Hollywood Studios’ most popular attractions.
While guests may only hear one song during each ride, Imagineers spent months evaluating music choices to ensure every track delivered the right combination of excitement, timing, and Muppet-style chaos. The result is a ride experience that feels familiar to longtime fans while introducing an entirely new soundtrack for guests to discover.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets officially opened on May 26, 2026, as part of Walt Disney World’s Cool KIDS’ Summer offerings at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
