One of Toon Lagoon’s most interactive attractions is temporarily off-limits to guests.
Visitors to Universal Islands of Adventure may notice that Me Ship, The Olive, has been blocked off as refurbishment work gets underway in Toon Lagoon.
Construction walls and barriers now surround the popular play area, preventing guest access while crews complete maintenance and refurbishment projects.
Me Ship, The Olive is one of the largest interactive playgrounds in Islands of Adventure and serves as a centerpiece of Toon Lagoon.
The attraction features multi-level play areas, water cannons, climbing structures, interactive elements, as well as Popeye-themed details throughout the ship.
For many families, it’s become a favorite spot for kids to burn off some energy while adults take a break from attractions.
Refurbishment Now Underway
The entire area is currently blocked off to guests as refurbishment work continues.
Universal has not announced specific details regarding the scope of the project, but the closure appears to be part of routine maintenance and upkeep designed to keep the attraction in good condition for future visitors.
At this time, all guest access to the ship has been suspended.
Reopening Expected Soon
Fortunately, the closure is expected to be relatively short. Current information indicates that Me Ship, The Olive, is scheduled to reopen on June 10, 2026.
That means guests visiting Islands of Adventure later this month should once again be able to explore the ship and enjoy its interactive play features.
Another Refurbishment at Islands of Adventure
The closure comes as Universal continues several maintenance and refurbishment projects throughout Islands of Adventure.
Recently, guests have also seen the reopening of the bridge connecting Hogsmeade and Jurassic Park following its own lengthy refurbishment, while other areas throughout the park continue to receive updates and refreshes.
