One of Orlando’s most popular off-property resorts just got a LOT more appealing for Disney World vacations.
The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress has officially earned designation as a Walt Disney World Gateway Hotel, joining Disney’s collection of approved nearby partner hotels that offer select Disney vacation perks while remaining outside the Disney Resorts Collection.
The resort, located just minutes from Disney Springs, now appears on Disney’s official list of Walt Disney World Gateway Hotels.
This is a pretty significant addition for Disney travelers who like staying close to the magic without paying full Disney Deluxe Resort prices.
What Is a Walt Disney World Gateway Hotel?
Disney’s Gateway Hotel program includes select non-Disney-owned hotels located near Walt Disney World that still participate in certain Disney vacation benefits.
Guests staying at qualifying Gateway Hotels can currently receive perks including:
- Early Theme Park Entry
- Access to purchase Lightning Lane selections earlier than off-site guests
- Proximity to Walt Disney World transportation corridors and Disney Springs areas
The addition of Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress expands Disney’s growing network of nearby partner resorts offering Disney-related benefits without technically being Disney-owned hotels.
Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Is Already a Fan Favorite
The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress has long been one of the most recommended off-property resorts for Disney World vacations thanks to its location, amenities, and resort-style atmosphere.
The property sits on a massive 1,500-acre Grand Cypress resort complex near Disney Springs and features:
- Multiple pools
- Waterslides
- Golf courses
- Lake activities
- Spa services
- Several dining locations
- Extensive recreation offerings
Disney fans have also frequently praised the hotel for offering a more upscale resort experience while still remaining very close to Walt Disney World property.
A LOT of Disney regulars were already treating this hotel like an unofficial Disney resort anyway.
The Hotel Is Especially Popular With Points Travelers
The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress has also become extremely popular among Hyatt and travel rewards fans over the last several years.
Before Hyatt’s recent 2026 award category changes, the resort was considered one of the best Hyatt redemption values near Walt Disney World because guests could frequently use Hyatt free night certificates at the property.
The hotel recently shifted from Hyatt Category 4 to Category 5 under the World of Hyatt award chart updates, making point stays slightly more expensive moving forward.
Still, many Disney travelers continue viewing the resort as one of the strongest non-Disney luxury hotel options in the area.
Disney Continues Expanding Nearby Hotel Partnerships
The addition of Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress also reflects Disney’s continued reliance on nearby partner hotels as Orlando tourism demand continues to grow.
Walt Disney World’s Gateway Hotel and “Other Select Hotels” programs already include Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, Shades of Green, Four Seasons Orlando, Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando, as well as several Disney Springs area hotels.
These partnerships allow Disney to expand lodging capacity near the resort while still encouraging guests to remain within Disney’s vacation ecosystem. For many guests, getting Early Theme Park Entry without paying Disney Deluxe Resort prices is becoming increasingly appealing.
Another Strong Option for Disney World Vacations
For travelers looking for a more traditional luxury resort feel while staying close to Walt Disney World, Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress may now become even more attractive thanks to its new Gateway Hotel status.
