Disney World is quietly making some pretty BIG changes for families staying at Resort hotels this summer.
Ahead of the upcoming Cool Kids Summer offerings at Walt Disney World, Disney has updated several complimentary in-room amenities available for guests traveling with infants and toddlers — including replacing the traditional toddler bed rails previously offered at Disney Resort hotels.
The biggest change involves Disney transitioning away from the older removable metal bed rails and replacing them with new cushioned bed bumpers for young children.
Unlike the previous rail system, the new bed bumpers slide underneath the fitted sheet and create a soft, padded barrier along the side of the mattress to help prevent children from rolling out of bed during the night.
The change appears designed to create a more comfortable and less intrusive sleep setup for younger guests staying at Walt Disney World Resort hotels. And parents with active sleepers will probably appreciate the softer setup compared to the older metal-style rails!
The updated bumpers are now part of Disney’s growing lineup of complimentary child-focused hotel amenities available for Resort guests.
Disney World Resort hotels also currently offer several additional complimentary items for families traveling with little ones, including:
- Pack ’n Plays and travel cribs
- Bottle warmers and sterilizers
- Infant bathtubs
- Diaper disposal units
- Night lights
- Bathroom step stools for children
- Mini refrigerators
- Stroller storage assistance
Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels can request these items either before arrival or directly through the front desk and housekeeping during their stay, though availability may vary based on inventory.
The changes arrive as Disney prepares for a major summer focused heavily on younger families and children with the launch of Cool Kids Summer across Walt Disney World beginning May 26.
This summer’s offerings include new kid-focused entertainment, character experiences, family dance parties, interactive activities, Bluey experiences at Animal Kingdom, and limited-time entertainment across all four parks.
