Yeah…this popcorn bucket is probably going to disappear FAST!
Disney has officially confirmed that the brand-new BDX Droid popcorn bucket coming to Disney Parks will be released in “limited quantities,” and Disney collectors are already preparing for absolute chaos.
The new BDX Droid popcorn bucket is officially arriving at Disneyland Resort on May 21st, with Walt Disney World expected to receive the bucket sometime shortly afterward. Disney has now warned guests that availability will be extremely limited once the collectible officially launches.
The interactive-style bucket is themed to the BDX droids from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and features one of the expressive little roaming droids guests have recently seen appearing throughout Batuu and Disney Parks marketing.
This may already be one of the most anticipated Disney popcorn buckets in YEARS.
If recent Disney popcorn bucket releases are any indication, this thing could sell out almost immediately.
Over the past several years, Disney fans have lined up for HOURS for limited-edition popcorn buckets, including Figment, Darth Vader, Jabba the Hutt, Mr. Toad, Elliott from Main Street Electrical Parade, and more.
Some releases have generated multi-hour waits and virtual queue systems due to overwhelming demand.
And a limited-edition Star Wars droid bucket feels EXACTLY like the kind of item Disney fans are going to obsess over.
The BDX droids themselves have quickly become fan favorites inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge thanks to their expressive personalities, roaming interactions, and playful movements throughout Batuu.
Disney and Lucasfilm have heavily featured the droids in recent promotional campaigns tied to Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World, and future Star Wars experiences.
The new bucket appears designed to resemble the same free-roaming droids guests have been seeing interact with characters and visitors inside the parks.
At this time, Disney has only confirmed the Disneyland Resort debut date of May 21. Walt Disney World’s release timing is listed between May 22 and May 24. These will only be available through Mobile Order on the My Disney Experience app for Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
And considering Disney is already warning guests about limited quantities…there’s a VERY good chance these will become difficult to find almost immediately after launch.
