Before Cool KIDS’ SUMMER officially kicks off at Walt Disney World later this month, Disney is already bringing the celebration directly into Central Florida classrooms.

Walt Disney World recently visited multiple elementary schools across the region with Goofy-themed activities, surprise experiences for educators, and a major announcement that will impact schools, nonprofits, arts programs, and education initiatives throughout Central Florida.
Ahead of this year’s Cool KIDS’ SUMMER event, Walt Disney World announced a $1.3 million investment supporting education programs across Central Florida.
According to Disney, the funding will support all five local public school districts across Orange County, Osceola County, Lake County, Polk County, and Seminole County.
The investment will also help support nonprofit organizations and arts education programs throughout the region, including:
- Elevate Orlando
- A Gift for Teaching
- Orlando Philharmonic Young People’s Concert
- Disney Musicals in Schools through the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts
Disney says the contribution will help expand opportunities tied to STEM programs, literacy initiatives, arts education, and other learning resources for local students.

Along with the donation announcement, Walt Disney World brought a preview of this summer’s “GoofyCore” experience directly to elementary schools across the area.
Disney visited Engelwood Elementary School, St. Cloud Elementary School, Eustis Heights Elementary School, Jesse Keen Elementary School, and Sterling Park Elementary School.
During the visits, kindergarten and pre-kindergarten students participated in silly games and activities inspired by the upcoming GoofyCore experience coming to EPCOT this summer.
Disney described the event as bringing “zany, wacky, and downright goofy fun” to local students as Goofy and the Goof Troop encouraged kids to dance, play, and participate in energetic activities.

The Disney magic didn’t stop with the students. After the school day wrapped up, Disney invited teachers, administrators, and school staff to stay behind for a special appreciation celebration recognizing their dedication to local students.
As part of the surprise, participating educators received Walt Disney World theme park tickets for themselves and their families.
Honestly, if there was ever a group of people who deserved a Disney day, it’s teachers.
Disney Leaders Spoke About Supporting Local Schools
Disney officials emphasized that education support remains a major priority for Walt Disney World and its connection to the Central Florida community.
According to Disney, supporting educators and students helps inspire the next generation of dreamers, storytellers, and creators.
Orange County Public Schools Superintendent Maria Vazquez also thanked Disney for continuing to invest in local classrooms and educators while creating memorable experiences for students.
What Is Cool KIDS’ SUMMER?
Cool KIDS’ SUMMER returns to Walt Disney World from May 26 through September 8, 2026, bringing limited-time entertainment, character experiences, activities, and seasonal offerings across the resort.
This year’s event includes:
- GoofyCore at EPCOT
- Bluey and Bingo experiences at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Jessie’s Roundup activities at Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World is obviously known for attractions, entertainment, and vacations, but stories like this are an important reminder of Disney’s long-standing relationship with the Central Florida community.
Between classroom support, arts education funding, nonprofit partnerships, and direct appreciation for educators, this initiative goes well beyond promoting a summer event.
And for the students who got to spend part of their school day dancing with Goofy? That’s probably a memory they’re not forgetting anytime soon.
