Marvel is bringing one of its most intense characters back, and it’s happening very soon.

A new Disney+ release just got confirmed for May 12, and if you’ve been following the darker side of the Marvel universe, this is one you’re not going to want to miss.

A new update confirms that The Punisher: One Last Kill is officially hitting Disney+ on May 12, bringing one of Marvel’s most brutal antiheroes back into the spotlight.

Disney

This upcoming special marks the return of Frank Castle, played once again by Jon Bernthal. This fan-favorite portrayal first debuted in Marvel’s earlier Netflix series and has since been folded into the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe.

For those unfamiliar, the Punisher is one of Marvel’s most grounded and intense characters — a vigilante driven by revenge after the tragic loss of his family, taking on crime in a much darker, more violent way than traditional heroes.

This new special, part of Marvel’s “Special Presentation” format (similar to Werewolf by Night), will follow Frank Castle as he attempts to move beyond his past, only to be pulled back into conflict once again.

The project is also closely tied to the events of Daredevil: Born Again, where Castle’s story continues to intersect with the larger street-level side of the MCU.

Alongside Bernthal, the cast includes returning character Curtis Hoyle, played by Jason R. Moore, along with several new additions whose roles are still being kept under wraps, adding even more intrigue ahead of release.

The story is expected to connect to future Marvel projects, potentially setting up events for upcoming films in Phase Six of the MCU — making this more than just a one-off episode.

Are you planning to watch The Punisher: One Last Kill on May 12? Because if Marvel is setting the stage for what’s next…this might be one you don’t want to skip!
