Disney Channel fans got a major nostalgia moment during Disney Channel Nite at Disneyland After Dark, as The Proud Family’s very own Penny Proud made her official debut as a walk-around character — and the moment became even more special when voice actress Kyla Pratt showed up to meet her!

The debut took place during the limited-ticket event at Disneyland Resort on April 12, 14, and 16, 2026, marking the first time Penny Proud has ever appeared as a meet-and-greet character in any Disney park. The new character experience is part of Disneyland’s celebration of Disney Channel nostalgia, bringing iconic shows and characters directly into the parks for themed after-hours entertainment.

In a truly full-circle moment, Kyla Pratt (who has voiced Penny since The Proud Family first premiered in 2001) joined the celebration, posing with the character and interacting with fans as the beloved animated teen stepped into the real world for the first time. The emotional meet-up quickly spread online as fans shared clips and photos from the event across social media, calling it a long-awaited milestone for the franchise.
