Disney just changed its apps, and it could completely transform your park day!

If you thought planning a Disney trip was already digital…this latest update just took things to a whole new level.
In a quiet rollout across both coasts, The Walt Disney Company has updated its mobile apps for Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort, and while it may look subtle at first glance, this is a major shift in how guests plan, book, and experience their entire vacation.
Let’s break it down, because this is bigger than it seems!
At the center of the update is a redesigned planning hub called “My Plans.” This new feature replaces the previous “My Day” and “Future Plans” tabs, combining everything into one streamlined, date-based view. Guests can now open the app, select a day, and instantly see all reservations, Lightning Lane selections, dining plans, and park details in one place.

Disney has also integrated an “Add Plans” function directly into this hub, allowing guests to book Lightning Lanes, secure dining reservations, mobile order food, and even check wait times — all without bouncing between different sections of the app.
In other words, what used to take multiple steps now happens in one centralized flow.

But there’s another update that might be even more telling.
Both apps now support MyDisney Wallet, a new feature that allows guests to store multiple payment methods directly in the app for use across their vacation. From booking to buying, Disney is clearly pushing toward a fully integrated, cashless, app-driven experience.
And yes — not everything stayed the same.

The popular Tip Board feature hasn’t disappeared entirely, but it has been relocated under the “Wait Times” section, further consolidating tools into fewer, more streamlined areas. For longtime visitors, this may take some getting used to, but it’s all part of a bigger shift.

Disney is moving toward a future where your entire vacation lives inside your phone. Planning, navigating, booking, paying — it’s all being funneled into one ecosystem designed to be faster, more flexible, and more reactive in real time.
For some guests, that means less stress and more convenience. For others, it means learning a brand-new way to “do Disney.” Either way, one thing is clear: the days of juggling multiple tabs, screenshots, and paper plans are fading fast.
And this update? It’s another big step in that direction.
