Heads Up: Universal Orlando parks closing EARLY on select April nights!

If you’re planning a Universal Orlando trip this month, you’re going to want to double-check your park hours, because several dates are about to look VERY different.
Universal Orlando Resort is once again hosting its popular GradBash events, which means both Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure will be closing early to regular guests on select nights in April.

Here’s what you need to know before you go.
GradBash 2026 is officially scheduled for April 17, 18, 24, and 30, bringing thousands of graduating high school seniors into the parks for a private, after-hours celebration. On these nights, the parks transition from daytime operations into an exclusive event, which means daytime guests will be asked to leave earlier than usual.

Typically, GradBash runs from 7:00 PM to 2:00 AM, with students gaining access earlier in the evening. As a result, both parks generally close to regular visitors in the early evening to prepare for the event.
And this isn’t just a small after-hours add-on — it’s a full park takeover!

GradBash is one of Universal’s biggest youth events of the year, transforming both parks into a high-energy celebration filled with rides, music, and exclusive entertainment just for seniors. During this time, attractions remain open for event guests, but the parks are completely cleared of daytime visitors.
So what does this mean for you?

If you’re visiting on April 17, 18, 24, or 30, you’ll want to:
- Plan for shorter park hours
- Arrive earlier in the day to maximize your time
- Expect potential crowds earlier in the afternoon as guests adjust
On the flip side, these dates can actually be a strategic win if you plan accordingly. Earlier closures sometimes mean lighter crowds later in the day, leading up to closing, as some guests avoid shortened park hours altogether.
But if you’re hoping for a full day (and night) in the parks, you may want to consider alternate dates.
Stay tuned for more Universal Orlando updates, park hours changes, and planning tips — and be sure to check back before your next visit so you’re always one step ahead.
