Disney has officially revealed the first look at the reimagined Garden View Lounge, which will soon reopen as The Garden View Lounge – Tea Experience at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

The elegant lounge originally closed in 2020 and has remained unavailable during the resort’s multi-year refurbishment. Now, the returning tea service is one of the final major pieces of the Grand Floridian’s ongoing transformation.

Located just steps away from Magic Kingdom, the Garden View Lounge has long been considered one of the most relaxing dining experiences at Walt Disney World.

With its refined atmosphere and whimsical Disney touches, the reimagined tea experience offers guests a unique opportunity to slow down and enjoy a classic afternoon tea while visiting Disney’s flagship resort.

Disney just released our first look inside the newly reimagined space that will be reopening very soon. The refreshed lounge’s new design is built to feel like a sunlit conservatory, with large floor-to-ceiling windows allowing natural light to pour into the space throughout the day.

The new design blends classic Victorian charm with modern comfort, incorporating plush seating, floral patterns, and soft colors like green, blue, and gold that help create a calm garden-inspired atmosphere.

Be on the lookout for charming details throughout the lounge, including brass-framed mirrors shaped like flower petals, stained-glass windows featuring native Florida birds, and decorative carpet patterns inspired by winding garden vines.

These touches help reinforce the space’s theme as a peaceful garden retreat inside the Grand Floridian.

The Return of the Grand Floridian Afternoon Tea

With the reopening of the lounge also comes the long-awaited return of the Grand Floridian’s Afternoon Tea service, which has been a fan-favorite Disney dining experience for years.

The new tea experience will feature menus inspired by the whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland, with loose-leaf teas from Twinings served alongside a variety of savory bites and desserts.

Guests will have several food and beverage options to choose from, ranging from a traditional afternoon tea service to a plant-based tea option and even a special children’s tea experience designed for younger guests.

And when the Garden View Lounge officially reopens on March 19, 2026, we will once again be able to sip, savor, and relax in one of Walt Disney World’s most elegant hidden gems!
