I’ll be honest, I usually skim past cruise booking news because it typically amounts to “the same ships, slightly different dates.”

This one’s actually got some real substance to it, so let’s get into it properly.

As of today, general public booking is officially open for Disney Cruise Line sailings running from fall 2027 through spring 2028. If you’re part of Castaway Club, you may have already snagged early access starting back in late August, but everyone else can now get in on it too.

The headline itinerary here is the Disney Wish returning to New York City, with sailings beginning September 2027. These are four- to seven-night trips up and down the East Coast during fall foliage season, plus routes down to Bermuda…which is a genuinely nice pairing of “leaf-peeping cruise” and “tropical getaway cruise” depending on which sailing you pick.

Where Else You Can Sail

Beyond the New York City sailings, the newly bookable fall 2027 through spring 2028 window also includes departures from ports in Puerto Rico, Panama, California, Texas, and Florida, with destinations spanning:

• Mexico
• The Caribbean
• The Bahamas
• Disney’s private island destinations, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point and Castaway Cay

And if you’re the type who plans a whole trip around a specific holiday overlay, take note: some of the newly bookable sailings include Halloween on the High Seas and Very Merrytime cruises for the holiday season, so you can build a Disney cruise directly around either one instead of hoping you get lucky with the calendar.

The Disney Adventure Is Also Bookable Now

This window also opens up booking on Disney’s newest ship, the Disney Adventure, which sails routes between Singapore and Malaysia. If you’re anywhere in that part of the world, or just looking for an excuse to combine a Disney cruise with a very different kind of international trip than the usual Caribbean run, this is worth a look.

And a Ship That’s Still Mostly a Mystery

One more thing worth flagging, even though you can’t book it yet: Disney Cruise Line is adding an entirely new ship to the fleet in late 2027, the Disney Believe. What we know so far is mostly aesthetic but genuinely fun — Tinker Bell will be featured on the bow, Woody and Buzz Lightyear on the stern, and a Moana statue in the grand hall.

Disney hasn’t released much beyond that yet, but a ship pulling from Peter Pan, Toy Story, and Moana all at once suggests they’re not going for a single unifying theme so much as a greatest-hits approach, which honestly tracks with how Disney’s been designing its newer ships.

Should You Book Now?

If a fall 2027 New York City sailing or a foliage-season East Coast cruise is on your radar, this is the moment to actually lock it in rather than keep it as a someday-maybe. Castaway Club members already had a few weeks’ head start, so availability on the more popular sailings and cabin categories may already be tightening up.
