Disney’s being pretty quiet about Monstropolis land right now, but a bulletin board display at D23 just spilled four details nobody was expecting — so let’s talk about it.

The board was part of an early sneak peek media preview of the upcoming theme park expansions, and it turns out a giant Monstropolis-themed bulletin board on display was absolutely loaded with things Disney hadn’t officially announced yet. Four things, to be exact. Let’s go one by one.
First up: a close-up street view of the Glob Theater, and it is genuinely gorgeous. Disney hasn’t said what’s actually going into the venue yet, but there’s a small saxophone sticker tucked into the corner of the concept art, which honestly reads like a pretty strong hint toward live music or maybe even a musical of some kind. I’m choosing to get my hopes up.

Second: the full street leading from the Glob Theater down to a row of apartments that guests will apparently get to walk through one day. Scattered around the concept art were a handful of Post-it notes labeling in-universe Monstropolis locations — Mike and Sully’s, Tony’s Grossery, and Art’s Gallery all made appearances. Whether these end up as actual in-park shops is still unconfirmed, but if they are, sign me up for a Tony’s Grossery snack run immediately.
Third (and this one’s the big one for foodies) one of those Post-it notes had “Hidden City Cafe” written next to a checkmark. If you know the movie, you know Mike and Sully walk right past this in-universe coffee shop in Monsters, Inc. Disney hasn’t confirmed what’s replacing PizzaRizzo yet, so this could very well be our first real hint at the new quick-service spot taking its place.

And fourth: new concept art and stills for Harryhausen’s, the upcoming restaurant based on the iconic sushi spot from the movie. The board included two actual stills pulled straight from the film showing the interior — which raises a genuinely fun question: are we getting to see the Sushi Chef in person?
Beyond the bulletin board, we already know the land’s headline attraction is shaping up to be a hanging-door roller coaster, recreating that unforgettable scene of Mike and Sully swinging through doors to track down Boo. Combine that with Harryhausen’s now confirmed and all these new street-level details, and it’s clear Imagineering is pulling directly from the film at every turn.

Disney’s playing this one close to the chest for now, but between the bulletin board slip-ups and everything else surfacing this weekend, Monstropolis is shaping up to be one of the most detail-rich lands in development. More news is expected as D23 continues, so stay tuned.
Which of these details has you the most excited — the Glob Theater, Hidden City Cafe, or getting a look inside Harryhausen’s? Let me know!
