One of Magic Kingdom’s most popular character meet-and-greet locations finally has a reopening date, and families won’t have to wait much longer.
After months behind construction walls, Pete’s Silly Sideshow is almost ready to welcome guests back to Storybook Circus. The beloved Fantasyland meet-and-greet has been undergoing an extensive refurbishment since the beginning of the year, but Disney has now confirmed when guests can once again meet Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, Donald Duck, and Goofy under the Big Top. Here’s everything you need to know before your next visit to Magic Kingdom.
Pete’s Silly Sideshow in Storybook Circus is officially scheduled to reopen on June 27, 2026, ending a refurbishment that began on January 4, 2026. Once the attraction reopens, guests will once again be able to meet four beloved Disney characters in their exclusive circus-themed costumes inside the colorful Big Top.
Pete’s Silly Sideshow is home to two separate character experiences.
From 10 AM to 7 PM, guests can meet:
- The Great Goofini (Goofy) and The Astounding Donaldo (Donald Duck) in the “Daring Disney Pals” queue.
- Minnie Magnifique (Minnie Mouse) and Daisy Fortuna (Daisy Duck) in the “Dashing Disney Pals” queue.
These unique circus costumes are exclusive to Storybook Circus, making Pete’s Silly Sideshow one of the most popular character meet-and-greets at Walt Disney World for families and Disney fans alike.
The attraction closed earlier this year after the tent structure showed visible signs of wear, including fading fabric and damage to portions of the roof.
Throughout the refurbishment, crews removed the original tent covering, completed structural repairs, and installed an entirely new striped tent roof. Construction walls surrounded the attraction for several months while work progressed, and nearby Big Top Souvenirs also entered refurbishment as Disney continued updating the Storybook Circus area.
Although Pete’s Silly Sideshow was closed, guests could still meet Minnie, Daisy, Donald, and Goofy at temporary outdoor locations throughout Storybook Circus during the refurbishment.
The reopening also restores one of the park’s most efficient character experiences, allowing guests to meet four Disney characters in one location while escaping the Florida heat — a welcome return during the busy summer travel season.
With Pete’s Silly Sideshow reopening, Disney continues to make progress on several refurbishment projects throughout Magic Kingdom, although work is still ongoing nearby at Big Top Souvenirs.
