After a brief testing period and several weeks of allowing its animal residents time to adjust to their new home, Jumping Junction has officially opened at Conservation Station in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The new walkthrough experience is part of the recently opened Bluey’s Wild World expansion and gives guests the opportunity to observe Australian wildlife in an immersive new habitat.

Located inside Conservation Station (accessible via the Wildlife Express Train) Jumping Junction replaces the former Affection Section petting zoo. Instead of interacting with domesticated farm animals, guests now stroll through a walkthrough habitat featuring kangaroos and wallabies, offering a completely new way to experience Disney’s commitment to wildlife education and conservation.

Unlike Affection Section, Jumping Junction is not a petting zoo. Guests remain on a designated pathway while kangaroos and wallabies roam freely throughout the habitat around them. Animal care experts are stationed throughout the experience to answer questions and share fun facts about the marsupials, including how to tell the difference between kangaroos and wallabies. Disney asks guests to refrain from touching the animals in order to ensure their comfort and well-being.

The attraction had been undergoing limited testing since earlier this month while Disney allowed the animals additional time to acclimate to their new environment. During the soft opening period, guest access was restricted and entry was carefully controlled. With the official opening now underway, Jumping Junction is welcoming guests as a permanent offering at Conservation Station.

Jumping Junction is one of several new experiences introduced as part of Bluey’s Wild World, which opened last month. The reimagined area also features interactive play experiences with Bluey and Bingo, Australian-inspired theming, educational exhibits, and new opportunities for families to learn about the wildlife and landscapes of Australia.

The new experience continues Disney’s long-standing focus on conservation while offering guests a unique opportunity that’s unlike anything else currently available at Walt Disney World. For animal lovers, it’s another reason to make the trip aboard the Wildlife Express Train during your next visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
