Good news, Space Rangers — your mission is almost ready to resume!

After nearly two months behind construction walls, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters at Disneyland is finally preparing to reopen.
Disneyland’s official website has been updated to show that the popular Tomorrowland attraction is scheduled to reopen on June 12, 2026, ending a refurbishment that began in April.

The interactive attraction closed on April 13, 2026, with Disney providing few details about the scope of the work being completed. Throughout the closure, fans speculated whether Disneyland’s version of the attraction would receive some of the same enhancements recently added to Walt Disney World’s Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin.

However, unlike the extensive overhaul completed in Florida (which included new ride vehicles, upgraded blasters, refreshed scenes, updated targets, and a new character named Buddy), Disneyland’s refurbishment appears to have focused primarily on maintenance and general updates rather than a complete reimagining.
A Busy Summer for Tomorrowland
The reopening comes at an important time for Disneyland Resort as summer crowds continue to arrive and several other attractions remain closed for refurbishment.
Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters sits at the entrance to Tomorrowland and remains one of Disneyland’s most popular family-friendly interactive attractions. Guests board Star Cruiser vehicles and help Buzz Lightyear battle Emperor Zurg by shooting targets throughout the ride and competing for high scores.

In recent days, guests have also noticed progress around the attraction, including the reopening of Little Green Men Store Command, the gift shop located at the ride’s exit.
Just in Time for Summer
The June 12 reopening date means guests visiting Disneyland Resort this summer should once again be able to join Star Command and battle the Evil Emperor Zurg.

As always, reopening dates can change, but for now it appears Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters is preparing for a return to action just in time for one of Disneyland’s busiest seasons of the year.
