Parents, this might be one of the most underrated additions to Walt Disney World this summer.

When most guests think about Cool KIDS’ SUMMER at Walt Disney World, they immediately think of character appearances, dance parties, and special entertainment. But Disney has quietly introduced another family-friendly activity that could become a lifesaver during those hot Florida afternoons.
A new Cool Kids’ Summer Coloring Corner has appeared inside Critter Co-Op at Magic Kingdom, giving kids (and honestly, adults too) a chance to take a break, cool off, and get creative while exploring Frontierland.
Located near Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Critter Co-Op has become one of the newest retail locations in Magic Kingdom following the transformation of the former Splash Mountain area. The shop features merchandise inspired by Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and the surrounding Frontierland area, but now guests will find something extra tucked inside.

The newly added coloring station includes tables, chairs, coloring sheets, and crayons where children can sit down and enjoy a quiet activity away from the hustle and bustle of the park. The coloring pages feature Disney-themed artwork and provide a simple but effective way for families to take a short break between attractions.
While it may sound like a small addition, seasoned Walt Disney World visitors know these kinds of experiences can make a huge difference during a long park day.

Magic Kingdom often experiences high temperatures and humidity throughout the summer months, and finding indoor locations where kids can recharge is always a welcome bonus. The coloring corner offers families a chance to relax in air conditioning while younger guests stay entertained.
The addition is part of Walt Disney World’s larger Cool Kids’ Summer initiative, which launched across all four theme parks this year. The seasonal program focuses on creating more family-friendly experiences, interactive activities, character encounters, and entertainment specifically designed for younger guests during the busy summer travel season.
Throughout the resort, guests can find kid-focused offerings including dance parties, surprise character appearances, interactive games, and themed entertainment experiences. Disney has been actively promoting Cool Kids’ Summer as a way to add extra value for families visiting during one of the busiest times of the year.

The Critter Co-Op coloring corner joins other recent additions designed to encourage guests to slow down and enjoy interactive experiences beyond rides and attractions. While it may not draw the same attention as a new attraction or nighttime spectacular, it’s exactly the kind of hidden gem many families appreciate once they discover it.
For parents of younger children, this could quickly become one of those “remember this spot for later” locations when energy levels start dropping in the middle of the day.

If you’re planning a Magic Kingdom visit this summer, it may be worth stopping into Critter Co-Op to check out the new coloring area — especially if you’re looking for a break from the Florida heat or a chance to let little ones unwind before heading to the next attraction.
