If you have a stay planned at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, there’s a new construction project you’ll want to keep on your radar.

Disney

Disney has officially announced that guest rooms at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will undergo a planned refurbishment beginning in late May 2026. The project is expected to continue through the end of January 2027, making it one of the longer hotel refurbishment projects currently scheduled at Walt Disney World.

While Disney has not revealed exactly what changes are coming to the rooms, the announcement confirms that guests may see or hear construction activity during their stay while the work is underway.

What Disney Has Confirmed

According to Disney, the refurbishment will focus specifically on guest rooms throughout the resort. The official notice states:

Guest rooms will undergo planned refurbishment through the end of January 2027, and guests may see or hear construction work in the area while alternate pathways may be in place.

At this time, Disney has not announced:

  • Which buildings will be refurbished first
  • What updates will be made to the rooms
  • Whether any themed elements will change
  • Specific construction schedules by section of the resort

What Could Be Changing?

Disney has remained quiet about exactly what this refurbishment will include.

The rooms at All-Star Movies previously underwent a major renovation that introduced:

  • Murphy-style fold-down beds
  • Updated flooring
  • Additional storage space
  • More charging locations
  • Refreshed bathroom layouts

Because of that relatively recent overhaul, many Disney fans believe this upcoming project could be more of a “soft goods” refurbishment involving items such as:

  • New furnishings
  • Updated décor
  • Flooring replacements
  • Mattress and bedding updates
  • Cosmetic refreshes throughout the rooms

However, Disney has not confirmed any of those details.

The Resort Will Remain Open

The good news is that Disney is not closing All-Star Movies Resort during construction.

Instead, the work is expected to happen in phases, with individual room sections being refurbished while the remainder of the resort continues operating normally.

Disney has also not announced any closures for:

  • The World Premiere Food Court
  • Fantasia Pool
  • Duck Pond Pool
  • Recreation areas
  • The arcade
  • Resort transportation

For most guests, the biggest impact will likely be occasional daytime construction noise and possible detours around active work zones.

Another Update for Disney’s Value Resorts

The announcement follows several recent refreshes across Disney’s Value Resort category.

Over the past few years, Disney has updated rooms, food courts, and common areas at several value resorts, including Disney’s Pop Century Resort and the All-Star Resorts. Many fans are hoping this latest project will continue modernizing one of Disney World’s most popular budget-friendly hotels.

Disney

If Disney can improve these rooms without losing the larger-than-life movie theming that makes All-Star Movies so fun, that’s probably a win for everyone.

For now, Disney has only confirmed that construction will begin in late May and continue through January 2027. We’ll be watching closely for permits, concept art, and any first looks at the refurbished rooms as soon as they’re revealed.
