One of Disney Cruise Line’s biggest attractions suddenly went down before guests even had a chance to ride it.

AquaMouse

Passengers boarding the Disney Treasure for a seven-night Eastern Caribbean sailing were greeted with a surprising sight on the ship’s upper deck. Disney Cruise Line’s popular AquaMouse attraction appeared partially disassembled, with pieces of the water coaster visibly removed while Cast Members worked on the structure.

Photos shared online by guests quickly spread across social media, with one passenger posting, “the aquamouse fell apart,” alongside an image showing sections of the attraction under repair.

According to guest reports, the issue began on embarkation day for the Disney Treasure’s May 23, 2026, sailing from Port Canaveral. AquaMouse (one of the signature attractions aboard the Disney Treasure) reportedly did not open for guests, and passengers were later informed the attraction might remain closed for the duration of the voyage.

Disney Cruise Line has not publicly shared details about what caused the malfunction or exactly what section of the attraction required repair.

AquaMouse serves as the Disney Treasure’s signature water coaster attraction and is exclusive to Disney Cruise Line’s newest ships, including the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny. The attraction combines a traditional waterslide with Disney storytelling elements, animated scenes, lighting effects, music, and sections suspended high above the ocean.

On the Disney Treasure, AquaMouse features the “Curse of the Golden Egg” storyline starring Mickey and Minnie Mouse on a treasure-hunting adventure.

Because the attraction is one of the major selling points of the Disney Treasure, many guests were disappointed to learn it may remain unavailable during their sailing.

As of now, Disney Cruise Line has not announced compensation for affected guests. Reports from passengers onboard say no onboard credit or replacement offering had been issued at the time of posting.

Some guests online have compared the situation to earlier operational issues aboard the Disney Adventure, where passengers reportedly received onboard credit after a major attraction failed to open during early sailings.

The current Disney Treasure voyage is scheduled to conclude on May 30 before the ship begins another Caribbean itinerary departing from Port Canaveral. At this point, it remains unclear whether AquaMouse will reopen before the next sailing.

Disney Cruise Line has not issued an official public statement about the closure, but guests onboard continue watching for updates as repairs continue.

We’ll continue monitoring the latest Disney Cruise Line developments, attraction closures, ship updates, entertainment news, and Disney vacation changes, so be sure to check back soon for more updates from Disney Parks and Disney Cruise Line.
