There’s officially a NEW hidden easter egg aboard Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run

Disney

…and if you’re a Grogu fan, you’re definitely going to want to try this on your next ride through Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

With the debut of the attraction’s brand-new The Mandalorian and Grogu overlay today at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland, Disney has quietly replaced the old “Chewie Mode” secret with an all-new hidden experience now known as “Grogu Mode.” And it sounds MUCH easier to activate than Chewie Mode ever was.

How To Unlock Grogu Mode

Grogu Mode can only be activated by the two Gunner positions inside the Millennium Falcon cockpit. Here’s how guests are reportedly triggering the hidden mode:

  1. Both guests must be seated in the Gunner positions
  2. Buckle your seatbelt first
  3. Before the ride mission officially begins, both gunners must press and hold the white activation buttons simultaneously
  4. Keep holding the buttons until the cockpit changes and Grogu Mode activates

Once successfully triggered, Grogu becomes MUCH more involved throughout the attraction experience with additional appearances, interactions, sounds, and moments built into the mission.

What Changes During Grogu Mode?

Even in the standard version of the updated ride, Grogu already plays a major role in the new storyline alongside Din Djarin. However, Grogu Mode reportedly increases:

  • Grogu interactions
  • Additional audio moments
  • Special reactions inside the cockpit
  • Extra appearances throughout the mission
  • More Grogu-focused chaos during gameplay

Some riders are even describing the hidden mode as the attraction becoming “completely hijacked by Grogu which sounds EXACTLY like something Grogu would do!

A New Era for Smugglers Run

The hidden easter egg arrives alongside the attraction’s biggest update since Galaxy’s Edge first opened in 2019. The revamped mission now takes guests across multiple Star Wars locations, including Tatooine, Bespin / Cloud City, Coruscant, and the wreckage near Endor.

The new storyline also introduces updated gameplay mechanics, expanded engineer interactions, and branching mission paths inspired by The Mandalorian and Grogu film.

So if you’re riding Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run soon, you may want to volunteer for the Gunner seats…because Grogu may be waiting.
