Mickey and Minnie are officially back at Disney’s Hollywood Studios after a temporary Star Wars takeover.
“Vacation Fun — An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie” has now returned to the Mickey Shorts Theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios following the conclusion of this year’s May the 4th merchandise event.
The attraction temporarily closed on April 29, 2026, as Disney converted the theater space into a special shopping location for the annual Star Wars Day merchandise release tied to May the 4th celebrations at Walt Disney World Resort.
With the merchandise event now completed, the theater has resumed normal operations, and guests can once again watch the Mickey & Minnie animated short experience inside Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
“Vacation Fun” originally debuted in March 2020 and features Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and their friends in a vacation-themed animated adventure inspired by the modern Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts style. The experience also includes in-theater effects and pre-show elements themed to classic vacation destinations and roadside tourist attractions.
The temporary closure was specifically connected to the highly anticipated May the 4th merchandise release event, which featured new Star Wars collections, including merchandise inspired by The Mandalorian, Grogu, and other franchise favorites.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios continues to serve as the center of Star Wars experiences at Walt Disney World, thanks to attractions and themed lands including Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Rise of the Resistance, and seasonal Star Wars merchandise events that regularly draw large crowds to the park.
Now that the merchandise event has wrapped up, guests visiting Hollywood Studios can once again step inside Mickey Shorts Theater to enjoy “Vacation Fun” as part of the park’s Animation Courtyard offerings.
