Planning a Walt Disney World vacation may soon look VERY different.

Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro says the company is actively exploring ways artificial intelligence can help simplify the vacation planning process for guests visiting Walt Disney World Resort and other Disney destinations.
During Disney’s fiscal Q2 2026 earnings call, D’Amaro explained that Disney sees AI as a tool that can reduce the complexity of planning a Disney vacation while also creating a more personalized experience for guests from the very beginning.

Disney vacations have become increasingly detailed to plan in recent years, with guests often juggling hotel reservations, dining bookings, Lightning Lane selections, transportation logistics, entertainment schedules, and park strategies months before arriving. Disney-focused travel planners and vacation specialists have become especially popular as many guests look for help navigating the complicated planning process.
According to D’Amaro, Disney believes artificial intelligence could help streamline many of those steps while tailoring recommendations and vacation experiences to individual guests. While Disney did not officially announce a product name, launch timeline, or specific platform details, the comments suggest the company is actively working on AI-powered planning tools behind the scenes.

D’Amaro also emphasized that Disney still views human creativity as central to the company, even as it continues developing new technology initiatives. During the earnings discussion, he described AI as offering “meaningful long-term opportunities” while reiterating that creativity and storytelling remain at the core of Disney experiences.
The potential addition of AI vacation planning tools could eventually impact everything from itinerary building and attraction recommendations to dining suggestions and resort selection for Walt Disney World guests. Some industry observers have also speculated that these types of tools could significantly change the role of traditional Disney travel agents and vacation planners in the future.

Disney has already integrated technology heavily throughout the Walt Disney World vacation experience through systems like MagicBands, Lightning Lane, the My Disney Experience app, mobile ordering, and virtual queues. AI-assisted planning would likely become another expansion of Disney’s growing digital vacation ecosystem.
At this time, Disney has not officially confirmed when guests could begin seeing AI-powered vacation planning tools introduced publicly.
