Heads up, if you’re in Disney World today, there’s a weather alert you need to know about!

Severe weather is moving through Central Florida, and it’s already impacting the Walt Disney World area. If you’re in the parks (or heading there), this is one of those updates you don’t want to ignore.
A tornado watch is now in effect for the Walt Disney World area, covering all of the resort along with surrounding Central Florida counties.
This means that tornadoes are possible in the area, along with strong storms, gusty winds, and potentially severe weather conditions throughout the day.

While a tornado watch doesn’t mean one has been spotted, it does mean conditions are favorable — so it’s important to stay alert and keep an eye on weather updates if you’re visiting the parks.
Guests in the parks today may experience weather-related impacts, including temporary ride closures due to lightning, heavy rain, or high winds. Indoor attractions and resort areas are typically the safest options during periods of severe weather.

As always, Cast Members are available to help guide guests to safe areas if conditions worsen, and Disney’s infrastructure is designed with severe weather in mind.
If you’re at Walt Disney World today, make sure your notifications are on, check the weather frequently, and have a backup indoor plan, because Florida weather can change fast.
