Disneyland just made a big dining change, and you might not notice it until you go to pay.
If grabbing a quick snack is part of your Disneyland routine (and let’s be honest — it is), there’s a new update rolling out across the parks that could change how you order, and how you pay.
As reported by Mickey Visit, a new change just hit dining locations across Disneyland Resort, and it’s already impacting how guests purchase some of the most popular snacks in the parks.
Disney is currently testing cashless-only payments at select outdoor vending carts, including locations that sell pre-packaged snacks, ice cream, beverages, and popcorn.
That means if you walk up to certain carts, you may see signage directing you to pay using credit cards, Disney gift cards, or mobile payment only—no cash accepted.
Before you panic — this isn’t everywhere (yet).
Disney confirmed that many carts, especially those serving fresh items like churros, pretzels, popcorn, and fruit, are still accepting cash for now.
So what’s the deal?
This is part of a larger test that began in late April, with over 25% of outdoor vending locations already participating. Disney says they’re continuing to evaluate guest behavior and may expand the change depending on how the test goes.
And if this feels familiar, it should.
Walt Disney World has already rolled out similar cashless changes, and other major theme parks across the country have gone fully cashless in recent years—so this could be a preview of what’s coming next for Disneyland.
