A NEW Pixar nighttime show is taking over Disney this summer, and it’s a BIG change.
Disney is officially swapping out part of its nighttime spectacular and replacing it with Pixar magic.
If you thought summer at Disney parks couldn’t get more packed, think again, because a brand-new entertainment offering is stepping in, and it’s bringing some of Pixar’s biggest stars along for the ride.
A Major Change to a Fan-Favorite Nighttime Show
At Hong Kong Disneyland, a new limited-time nighttime pre-show called “Pixar Pals Spectacular” is officially replacing the current 20th anniversary drone pre-show that accompanies Momentous: Party in the Night Sky.
This change marks a pretty big shift — especially since the original drone pre-show debuted as part of the park’s massive 20th anniversary celebration.
But don’t worry — the main Momentous show isn’t going anywhere. The new Pixar experience will play right before the main nighttime spectacular, keeping the full evening entertainment lineup intact.
Meet the Stars of “Pixar Pals Spectacular”
This new pre-show is exactly what it sounds like — a Pixar-packed celebration lighting up the night sky.
Guests can expect appearances (and likely drone visuals) inspired by fan-favorite characters like:
- Woody, Jessie, and Buzz Lightyear (Toy Story)
- Mike and Sulley (Monsters, Inc.)
- Joy and Sadness (Inside Out)
- Nemo and Dory (Finding Nemo)
- Mr. Incredible and Jack-Jack (The Incredibles)
- Meilin in her red panda form (Turning Red)
The show is expected to highlight themes of friendship, adventure, and connection — all signature Pixar storytelling elements.
The new show is part of the park’s upcoming Pixar Summer Fest, which runs June 12 through August 31, 2026
That means this is a limited-time offering, so if you’re visiting during the summer, this will be one of the must-see nighttime experiences.
“Pixar Pals Spectacular” is just one piece of a larger seasonal event taking over the park. Pixar Summer Fest will include rare and exclusive Pixar character appearances, new themed food and treats, a lineup of merchandise (including lots of Toy Story items), and additional entertainment offerings throughout the park
There are even daytime experiences like water play parties and interactive entertainment designed to keep the Pixar energy going all day long.
Switching out a 20th anniversary pre-show might feel like the end of an era, but in its place, Disney is delivering something new, vibrant, and packed with recognizable characters. And honestly? A Pixar drone show before Momentous sounds like a pretty solid upgrade.
