After 7 years…Darth Vader has officially returned to Galaxy’s Edge, and today changes everything.

Darth Vader

For years, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has followed a strict timeline — keeping certain iconic characters out of Batuu. But today, that rule is officially out the window.

Today marks a major moment at Disneyland as Darth Vader has officially made his return to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for the first time in seven years.

He’s back!

Since the land first opened, Galaxy’s Edge has operated within a specific timeline tied to the sequel trilogy, meaning characters like Vader were notably absent from Batuu. But now, that storytelling approach has shifted in a big way.

With today’s update, timeline restrictions have officially been lifted, allowing guests to encounter characters from across the entire Star Wars saga — not just one era.

That means Vader isn’t alone.

Guests visiting today may see a mix of characters spanning multiple generations of Star Wars storytelling, creating a much more dynamic and unpredictable experience throughout the land.

Leia Organa

This is a huge change for Galaxy’s Edge.

By opening the door to all timeline characters, Disney is giving fans something they’ve been asking for since day one—the chance to interact with the most iconic figures in the franchise, regardless of when their stories take place.

And let’s be honest…seeing Darth Vader roaming Batuu again? That’s a moment.

If you’ve been waiting for a reason to revisit Galaxy’s Edge, this might be it! Follow along for more updates.
